Our apologies for referring to Atkins as a salary dump and upsetting you. You’re right, he’s just a dump.Atkins is on 400k for 1 more year, that’s not a salary dump, I genuinely think Port thought they want some depth in the HB flank role. We’re happy to just let him see out his contract in the VFL
Likewise Port has signed Luko to a 6 year $6 Million contract. Even though they are taking $1mil a year off our books, they are paying him the same afterwards. That’s worth an F1
Definitely a big No. Barrass has got a chronic back injury. Hawks are mad trading for him IMO.If Port really do screw this deal, do we just go for Barrass instead? Would be pretty handy pairing with Moore and Howe.
That was draft tampering. There is nothing preventing doing it for a trade. In fact, it happens all the time.Can’t. Refer to one Brett Chalmers.
Exactly what I was thinking. If Collingwood wasn’t involved it would’ve been done by now
This makes no sense. Why would Port accept 19, 29 and Richards which is less than what they get as part of the 3 way for Houston. The smart thing to do tomorrow morning would be
Noble + F1
For
13 and 29.
Then field offers for 13 and get the absolute best return possible.
Whether it’s Sydney’s 19 and 22
Or norths future first.
Remember, port have something we have so we could potentially offer them 19 29 and Richard’s, Or do something with norths future first.
Is this the Carlton 2.0 game or the Sydney game?Just like watching a Collingwood game
I understand that, but we can tell the suns, we are still interested to get involved in a trade between you and port (becuase we have a vested interest in getting Houston and also giving them Richard’s)That’s exactly right, only issue is that Gold Coast are also doing this because they want to trade Jack to Port…so in theory if they aren’t contingent on one another then it’s the best approach.
Really not a fan of over paying or underselling because we are ‘in the window’ it seldom works out for us.
Port have managed to piss everyone off, it seems. But on Monday night the Power were adamant the deal was insufficient and were threatening to trade Houston to North Melbourne, which have offered a future first-rounder as part of a deal.
The Power view is that having agreed to trade Houston back to Victoria they are not willing to accept a lesser Collingwood offer when the Roos deal is clearly of a higher quality.
The only wrinkle in accepting a Roos first-rounder for Houston is that the Power would prefer 2024 selections instead of future picks.
It remains to be seen if the Magpies and Suns can restructure aspects of the trade deal to resuscitate it but the Power believed they were being strong-armed by Houston’s camp to accept a lesser deal.
Gold Coast was on Monday night threatening to trade the No.13 draft pick to a rival party if the trade fell over given huge demand for that selection.
And the Houston camp was furious that a trade that had seemed over the line on Monday night now seemed to have flatlined.
As of Monday afternoon the prospective trade would have seen the Suns still keeping picks six and 23 to hand to the Tigers for Rioli, who finished second in the 2022 best-and-fairest by a single vote to Tom Lynch and won this year’s Jack Dyer Medal.
1. They don’t need to accept it. We have our deal take it or leave it.This makes no sense. Why would Port accept 19, 29 and Richards which is less than what they get as part of the 3 way for Houston.
Plus standalone, at best we get Pick 13 for F1 and Noble when North are offering their F1.

Houston would be furious with Port right now if what’s being said is true. Assumed he’d be a Pie tomorrow and now they pull out. If they don’t trade him to us it will not end well either way (going to North or staying at Port)Port have managed to piss everyone off, it seems.
1. They've obviously left it.1. They don’t need to accept it. We have our deal take it or leave it.
2. Well then the suns risk not landing noble.
Hi it’s me the cocky GC supporter who posts here sometimes even though his team makes the dumbest trades.
You’re not gonna like this. It’s up to Collingwood to pay more for Houston, not us.
We can do:
13 for Norths F1
Luko for Port’s F1
29 for Noble (take it or leave it I guess)
6 for Rioli
23 + F2 for another teams F1
The only reason we aren’t doing that is A) Cameron is an idiot and B) you want Houston but don’t have the draft capital yourselves.
We might still bend over again because let’s face it it’s us, but really, you need to go find more trade capital (ie. Trade another player to Port or for a draft pick). If it was any team other than us involved that’s what you’d have to do.
Port want more by tommorow night or Good Chance Houston be at North
