Where are we finding the cap space for Perryman big deal and Houston?

We didn’t lose anyone significant really. What am I missing?

Have the veterans been given pay cuts for this, likely final year for them?

Treloar still going until next year isn’t it? Grundy next year too?
Murphy + Noble + cap goes up by about 1million.

From Michael Gleeson:

Collingwood have agreed to a trade giving up a future first round pick, a second round pick, John Noble and Joe Richards for Port Adelaide’s Dan Houston. There might be a pick or two in the 50’s or 60s coming to Collingwood.
Wait we’re giving away our second too? That makes the deal quite a bit less favourable if true…

So we now have 36 plus possibly 4 picks in the 50’s this draft

2025 we have just our 2nd, 3rd , 4th. I’m guessing we will try and bundle the bulk of those 2024 picks for a future 2nd to cover McGuane bids, or do you think we will try and improve our hand for this years draft, try and get into the top 25

Who will need picks this year , of have we missed the boat there

It’ll be Sully and Bytel - Long is bigger and has more upside as an inside mid.
I personally think it will be long and/or bytel . Long has struggled with positioning himself during a game and cannot tackle to save a life. Sully has shown his ability to get effective clearances.

I was listening to him on trade radio today and have no idea how he could even comment on this trade with a straight face. A caller rand and said how do the pies get 13 for John Noble and his literal response was “uhhhhh, I’m not really on top of all that, just the main trades”.
Like that wasn’t one part of the biggest ****ing trade of this whole period! No wonder he thought Carlton were ahead, he couldn’t even wrap his head around how we would get 13 from GC 🤦🏻
That's ok, not like it's his job or anything 🤔

Am I missing something? How is Noble, Richards and a future first for just Houston a good deal? Essentially two early teens picks and Richards for just Houston sounds bad to me.
We should also throw in Johnson and Krueger so we don’t feel as guilty. Ripper trade by the Pies. 2 x borderline best 23 who are a dime a dozen and an unknown future first ( think macrae and reef) for an elite dual AA halfback is a steal

Not 36.

He'll face a lot of competition but I reckon Damo stating JUST LAST NIGHT that Houston would end up at Carlton takes the prize for the worst call of the trade period.
I think there was a lot of wishful thinking in that statement of his.He was clearly hoping that Houston would end up at Carlton rather than actually believing it.
