Glad he hasn’t carried on like Lever has.

rocky is a (restricted) free agent - he has every right to explore and nominate his club.
Lever is not so he can either be a prick going out strong and nominate a club like he has done, or he can be a slimey little prick (aka Aish) and pretend he's staying only to nominate his club in the end anyway. Either way he's viewed as being a prick.
I'm of the opinion that initial contracts should be extended, free agency should be opened to all uncontracted players, and the club that signs a free agent must hand over AFL mandated compensation to the losing side in the form of future salary cap space.

Port is one of the most emotionally comfortable destinations imo.

Collingwood, Carlton, Essendon, Richmond and Gold Coast would be way worse.

Lies and slander!! Port are the devil incarnate, a multi-dimensional shapeshifting amalgam combining the accumulated horrors of the 666 Planes of the Abyss.....

..... into teal jumpers :p

B2B2B pretty much nailed it.
My clouded memory has him & Angus arm in arm having a grand old time with huge smug grins, though it may just be my memory of it.

Angus had every reason to be smug, he had just negotiated the deal to get Paul Roos back to coach the Lions........ Massive massive massive flog.

And the failed bid to move to Springfield.
FLOG!

That time we won a big game and the boss embraces you at the players gates amougst a series of hugs with many people.. can't believe he didn't knock him out TBH, shame!

Don’t like the future cap space idea but a big fan of balancing the power between club and player. NBA has this closest to right:

2 year guaranteed, 2 year team option upon drafting, players can be traded under contract etc without requiring their consent and FA has no compensation. There’s some really hanky equalisation problems in the US with big market/small market phenomena and in particular veterans signing at minimum contracts to make strong teams stronger but it’s closer to balanced to what we have where the player always holds the whip.

Haven't heard much on the priority pick request - did we put one in?

Early September we said we were going to request one at the AFL Commission meeting. That was held Brownlow week and no news since then but obviously a lot of other things occurring in that time that overshadow our request. I don't think we'll hear anything on it until we hear what we can expect in compensation for Rocky. If it's band 1, expect us to quietly forget it. If it's band 2, expect Swann or Noble to raise the issue once more and state how we're still waiting on the outcome.

Strange that there hasn't been any mention that one has actually been requested. Agreed it and the Rocky compensation may be intertwined but then with this mob who knows.

His alleged mocking of a Tiger players stutter in the granny pushes him way beyond Aish's level.

Pretty sure last year it was announced when trade and free agency period started.
Edit: It was announced on the 6th of October last year on the Thursday, the day before the trade and free agency period opened.
