i think most suits are tailored as the standard off the rack fits one body type only. and we're all different.

i procured 3 new suits recently. love them, but yes modified all of them.

as for the cost...well, for me to know..

I think you can get lucky but even then tailored still > off the rack. I have one suit I bought off the rack at Myer and it fits me perfectly. There were two left and they were 75% off or something like that. Right place, right time I guess. I've tried on others that were a lot more expensive (pre discount) and they fit exactly as you'd expect - like they were sized for someone with slightly different measurements to me.

ur doing it wrong. you didn't mention price at all.

That's why I emphasise that I think I'm a regular guy who loves the footy, drinks beer and enjoys hanging out with mates, just like everyone else.

"heroic proclamations"
"assuaging"
"sociological mould"
"socioeconomic strata"

Sorry, you're not such a bad guy really but you do give off strong Kevin Rudd vibes.

Can fill me in on detailed programmatic specificity? In due season, of course.:D

That receiving a final mark of 88 for an honours thesis is bloody hard to do. And that combining such a grade with a full time postgraduate course, as well as 20 hours of legal work per week, goes some way to assuaging the notion that because Mum and Dad pay for all my living expenses, I absolutely must fit into the sociological mould mainstream Australia has set out for me, as belonging to a socioeconomic strata which contributes little to society, has no concept of hard work, and has no idea of the value of money.
There wasn't a need to mention the mark at all though. It was like you wanted everyone to know what you got.

It isn't what you say, it is how you say it. An ingrained speech behaviour.

Ps, 65 close knit friends, not acquaintances? That is more than usual I would think.

Peace and love I find highly overated. Revenge and confrontation in the right cicrumstances can also be completely satisfying.

Here's a conversation from earlier in the day when I realized some arseh*le from high school had messaged me

We were evicted from our hole in the ground. We had to go and live in a lake.

Right. I had to get up in the morning at ten o'clock at night, half an hour before I went to bed, eat a lump of cold poison, work twenty-nine hours a day down mill, and pay mill owner for permission to come to work, and when we got home, our Dad would kill us, and dance about on our graves singing "Hallelujah."

You messaged his mum? He messaged your mum?

WTF?

Kind've. I confronted him for an explanation for the bullying and he denied any memory of it, I kept pushing and finally showed him print screens of the bullying on myspace from 2005 and the little weasel blocked me. Completely unsatisfied, I then had to lambast his mother on what a little delinquent shit she had raised and how it was her responsibility not to let it affect others. I questioned her morality, her values, her class before finally wishing ill health upon the whole family.

Unfortunately matey unblocked me and I didn't see his melt until 6 months later today. The police never came and if he messages my mum I'd kill him.

Yep. You "had to".

Clearly no other option, like leaving it alone and acting like an adult.

C'mon mate. Fair shake of the sauce bottle.

You're damn right I did. Not to seem above anyone, but to show that I worked hard to get where I am.

you go off on these monologues about yourself more than anyone else here

I know. I feel the need to stand up for myself when it's usually ten or twenty onto one. I figure if I can get shit hurled at me, I can write at length about how people are incorrect/ill-informed/stupid heads.

It isn't what you say, it is how you say it. An ingrained speech behaviour.

It's how I speak. I don't agree with everyone's manner of speaking on here, but it doesn't really bother me.

P.S. 15 close knit friends, roughly 50 work/uni/old school friends, and little to no acquaintances. You guys really love twisting things around to suit yourselves.
