Agree wholeheartedly with this. Bellchambers is a better ruckman than Hille, Hille a more useful forward. In light of that and the fact that we need Paddy in the ruck more, it probably makes sense in the short term to play Hille instead of Bellchambers. Post Hille, who knows??

Ryder is a better ruck in second halves once the other rucks tire slightly, but he is a no.1 ruck. There's a huge role in our side for Hille if he can get fit, we were crying out for a ruck that could take a grab.

I've been saying this for a while, he is just too good not to be playing ruck full time. Especially with his tank he is able to ruck 80-85% of the game.

Add to that I think it motivates him more knowing he is the main man.

The other problem with Hille is that his defensive chasing is the wort of our three ruckmen. It's like he thinks it's not his role to even try to sprint at a player, he just watches and points down the ground. Love what he brings on the attack, but don't want him back if he's going to bring that mentality into the team.

Paddy easily the first choice ruck, use a tall back or tall forward to ruck in those parts of the ground so Ryder can hang around the middle 1/3rd or thereabouts and don't waste a spot on a second ruck when we really don't need 1, if shit hits the fan in a game and we need to use another bloke if Paddy goes down, well we have several talls that can compete well enough. (Or failing an obvious tall option, go a wrestle with their ruck and use a 3rd man up, why is this option not used more often)

i think everyone knew this we but we just thought we could live with T-Bell in the ruck because paddy was going good as a forward anyway but the difference when ryder is in the ruck is to big to ignore ryder/hille ruck to make a return or ryder/buckets with hurley down back and gumby up forward

There is no point in trading away Bellchambers without a replacement that is more mobile/better.

In future seasons, presuming we trade away Bellchambers, Hille retires, and Ryder breaks down, we’re going to replace them with 2nd grade ruckman or or 1st/2nd year Daniher?

If we trade away Bellchambers must replace with a ruckman that is more mobile e.g. Luenberger.

Bellchambers is contracted till the end of 2013.
For us to trade him with a year left in his contract it would have to be a huge offer.
