Cassisi not in my side.

P Burgoyne on the ball (our best ever mid IMO).

If it is about the player (potential ) and not the career I'd be trying to find a spot for Bowen Lockwood...

Every time I see Bowen mentioned there is a tinge of sadness that runs through my body. Such a shame how his career ended and the pain he is subjected to every day of his life

Obviously we all loved Byron Pickett and the way he went about it, and the Norm Smith just caps his legend off. But did he really do enough for Port at AFL level to make this team? 55 games across 3 seasons going at 11.47 disposals per game/1.4 goals per game. By comparison Angus Monfries has played 60 games across 3 seasons (effectively) going at 15.27 disposals per game/1.38 goals per game and he wouldn't be anywhere near the discussion.

Yeah, Byron's inclusion is questionable. In a competing team I would only want one of K.Cornes and Carr also. Monty in for whoever drops out. Good crack at a team though.

Primus was the best ruckman ever to play for the PAFC- AFL era and before.

He dominated a shallow era for rucks for what was a relatively short period of time and the cult of personality that sprung up around him cost us one flag and led to him presiding over the worst era in 140 years.

Both Primus and Lade were very good, that is why they both made the side, what are we arguing over again? Lade is starting on the field too, in the forward lines where he was highly effective during our dominant years. Primus was a great ruckman but not really as good up forward.

Montgomery should be ahead of every single name on the interchange bench imo.

• That Lade was better for longer
• That Lade stood out in a stronger era of rucks
• 1. Lade 2. Johnston 3. Daylight
• I really like Lade
I like Lade too, Lade to S. Burgoyne 3rd quarter 2004 GF "don't you love it when a plan comes together" Huddo.

But Primus was no chump. Couldn't coach, but definitely could play.

Probably controversial Id have Nick Stevens on the wing over K Cornes

Stevens was such a balanced player with great kicking skills

You ****ing serious? Byron was one of those blokes who impacted the game and not the stat sheet. Byron was feared like few players but he was so much more than that. Had so much skill that wasn't fully appreciated because folks focused on his bump and hardness. One of my all time favourite players to watch, in fact my second favourite after Sir Gav.

The whole Primus v Lade argument is interesting. Both greats of the game, not just our club. Lade more versatile, Primus better in the ruck and more aggressive. Only one had a rule changed due to his dominance. Bloody hard to split them but............................. I can't decide.

I would have put Roger James on the bench in 2004 but not a bad effort.

If that Grand Final was the first and only game he ever played for the PAFC, he did enough to make this team.

Not really controversial at all, I assumed he would've been in there. Rather strange that he isn't. All prejudices cast aside he has to be in the best 22. He dominated in his time at Port and from memory finished top 5 in the B&F nearly every year if not every between 1999 and 2003.

I wouldn't have him in at the expense of Kane though, Kane is definitely worthy of his position on the field. However, I think you could've easily slotted Nick Stevens on to the bench.

No Brent Montgomery? Has a B&F and an AA to his name. Would've thought he'd knock out Mead or Dew.
Monty should be in over Casissi, S.Burgoyne needs to be in our best 22, Trengove also.

should extend it to a squad of 25
