COLLINGWOOD believes youngster Paul Seedsman has the ability to become a regular senior player in 2013, with his promise rewarded with a contract extension quietly agreed to earlier this year.

The 20-year-old's contract was extended by two years in just his second AFL season, meaning he'll remain in the black and white until at least the end of 2014.

With 11 senior games now behind him since his AFL debut in round one, Seedsman has set himself up to attack his third season next year.

"We thought he played some really good footy," Collingwood football and opposition analysis Rodney Eade told collingwoodfc.com.au.

Great to hear and I have High Hopes for Seedsman

That is great news TD he can develop into a good player he has some classy aspects about his game and has poise really happy about this re signing when he thickens out just him go.:thumbsu:

Thought he was good the games he got (except anzac day) looks like a great prospect with great kicking and pace just hope he can muscle up a bit more next year. I am keen to see him become a regular and hopefully this means S.buckley is finished.

Evidently, he made the final of the sprint on grand final day? Is that right? I like him too. I think I went to a VFL game when I was in Melbourne last year and he was one that impressed...but he was skinnier than a rake....but he's 189cm and he can get some meat and with his pace...he is a real chance..

He slipped at the start and finished either last or second last in his heat.

Good on him.

He was a massive Pies supporter as a kid, so I don't think we'll ever have problems with him regarding contracts and the like. If Seedsman were to bulk up and be best 22, he could really add to our wing/HBF prospects.

It might mean Benny J is pushed out (or others depending on form), but that essentially leaves us with Seedsman, Harry, Heater, Johnson, Daisy and (possibly) Young as our line breakers and runners on HBF and the wing. Noice.

I'm hoping he puts in a massive preseason and pushes for selection. If anybody saw his effort against like 2-3 Swans players in R20, you'd agree that he has the potential to be anything.

Why? Has all the attributes to be a heap better than a tagger.
There's nothing wrong with being a two-end running tagger. Think of a better Licuria, that's how I reckon he can work out to be.

Slick mover, good awareness and poise. That's a great start and with a little more bulk could be a handsome swing man for us or a Mr. Fixit.

Yeah, the swing man part actually is the part that intrigues me about him.

Whilst watching him play, i had no idea what his ideal position would be, which is a good thing in my opinion. I dont think we have a heap of guys that are versatile, which is why i rate Goldsack so highly.

I can see him being effective as a half forward/back or as a dynamic winger.

If he can throw on 9-11 kgs in the next couple years, he has the potential to be a 150-200 gamer.

Wouldnt be bad for a 6'2 pick 76.

Was unsure about him until the game up in Sydney. Has good speed, skills and poise and could develop into a high class player. His attitude seems to bode well for the future.

Surely you could say the same thing what most players who play a relatively outside game. Having siad that, I really like his poise wiht ball in hand and think that he's more suited to setting things up from the back half than he is to a forward or midfield role.

I actually think Seedsman will be a player.

For me, he was the most impressive out of Elliot, Williams, Sinclair and himself.
+1. He is the only one of those players with the potential to be elite. His decision making & kicking are A. Just needs to bulk and then he'll be quality. Also the type of player we are lacking so his improvement is important.
