Yeah.

The fact that Riewoldt won the Rising Star award and his club best and fairest in his first full season are irrelevant.

He wasn't All Australian and dual club best and fairest until his third full season.

Piker.

And Roughead didn't even play as a forward during his first two seasons - what was that all about?

So he played 58 games in his first three seasons - who cares?

#1 and #2 draft picks

I'm on the majority of KPPs take time train (Especially those coming from another sport!), however, AA and Dual B and F winner in your third year is freakishly good. That is exactly what Riewoldt is too. A freak.

Be patient. The likes of roughy and reiwoldt didn't show much until being in the system for at least 3 yrs.

Terrible comparisons there for reasons already pointed out.

But both players were much more physically developed than Apeness is. For the sort of game he plays, he needs to stack on weight, so I do agree with you that we need to be patient.

He's already listed as 101kg. Don't think his weight is an issue. He just needs to get better at reading the play, judging the drop of the ball and how to protect it, where to position himself, etc.

Correct, he doesn't need to put ANY more weight on. He just needs to convert the puppy fat into lean muscle, which will happen over the next 2-3 pre-seasons.

Yeah I don't think Apeness' needs physical development. The few times i've seen him he's easily won strength battles against defenders. His development is between the ears, for exactly the reason you outline.

I was generalising. Those two were the first two that I thought of as KPFs,between them in their first 3 years averaged about 0.5 gls per game.Key forwards take time.

Taberner's selection to play for Peel is interesting. All the others in the doubtful category were named in the Fremantle squad. On Wednesday morning Tabs trained and if he underwent the same fitness test the others went through I missed it. However I did think at the time that, although on the track, he didn't seem to be moving as freely as normal. Maybe playing for Peel enables better management of his game time during this phase of his recovery. Or maybe we've gone as small as possible to run Port off there feet.
