2nds Peel Thunder 2023 Season

Not a work thing. Just getting around your mates who you've played footy with all year. Acres and Griff were down there supporting the Peel guys last year just days after they requested trades.
A class act would have gone.

Think Griff and Blake have been missed around the club if not onfield. Pretty sure lobby isn't missed at all.. Liam? Personally think not too much.

Acres and Griff were always going to big losses culturally more than anything. Both extroverted guys who got along with everyone. Would've been good to keep around now seeing as our group is pretty introverted apparently.

The people complaining about the amount of dockers at Peel have really got their heads in the sand. I'd say Peel had less than 11 once or twice all year...

To mention of all the AFL-aligned state league clubs (not playing AFL final) I'd guess Freo had the least AFL-Listed players. I can't be bothered checking the others but I counted 21 AFL-listed players for Gold Coast this week in the VFL - they're into a prelim yet where's fuss over east?

I think the system is set up really well. I'd like maybe one or two more be able to play in regular season but it does benefit us long term that Peel players can see a chance to play in finals and play every week.

Don’t even have a stand-alone teams out of all those clubs.
Are Fremantle the only club besides Adelaide, I think, to not have their own feeder club?
Not the club’s fault that West Coast have failed in every way doing their own.

Pretty sure Peel originals during the season don’t count (ie Wilson and Draper for e.g.) to that 12 so we have had up to 14 at times. There is a cap on the finals for a reason because we did abuse the system a little - remembering Balic/ Bennell sitting in the stands injured for Peel reserves.

I like how this discourse comes up every time Peel beat Subi.

Because Subi are sulky whinging bitches.

Funny too because Bell and Sears were the ones that got us over the line.

If Peel manage to win the premiership this year I wonder what further restrictions the other clubs will demand to hobble them further.

We can't be having Peel winning a premiership every 10 years in a 9 team comp, that's blatantly unfair!
Well the Peel side won the 2016 Flag with 17 dockers players in the 21.

In 2017, Peel Beat subiaco again but with 14 dockers listed players. One of them was Zac Dawson.

If Peel make the 2023 grand final, how many Dockers listed players will be playing? 10?

Adelaide Crows do play in the SANFL.

I think that 3-4 of the Victorian clubs don't have reserve sides named the same thing as the AFL side however sides like Box Hill Hawks would run more like Hawthorn's reserve side than a standalone club.

You don't think there may have been a moment or three when we could have used a mature forward/ruck this year?

Interesting.

Box Hill is just Hawthorn in another name.
Actually love Fremantle alignment with Peel anyway. Underdog type. Blair Bell wouldn’t have the chance to see what he’s worth with AFL Players.

It’s not like this year’s crop is close to 2016 levels- Tabs, Ryan, Langdon, Blakely, Dawson, De Boer, Silvagni, Mzgunu, Nyhuis, Apeness, Yarran, Collins, Hughes, De Luca, Tucker. Was absolutely stacked.
2017 probably closer too.

The finals don’t have Sturt, Treacy, Erasmus.
