With respect you don't know we'll be better for the experience. So many things need to go right to get to a prelim. You have to take your chances when you get them.
There's a difference between getting better results (an unknown) and our young players being better for the experience.

Not much point replying to you, it appears you are a protected species

The reality is we were just a little short this year because we didn't have Grundy. We have Grundy we win more clearances
That may be the case - but my point is we lost a game we should have won because of the start we gave Sydney. And the reason they got a good start was because our defenders weer giving bewildering match ups. No one has countered and said they were good match ups. Their answer to that observation is to tell me to eff off. Which really means they agree with me.

It seems people cant accept what has been acknowledged everywhere, the first half defensive match ups were bewildering. Telling me to eff off doesnt change that fact.
Maybe make your point if it makes you feel better and then walk away.
Nothing to be gained from constantly re-stating it (imo).

Just watching flys presser, his a class act. Love him. Can tell he is really shattered too.

Totally agree, what an absolute class act he is, and so happy that he is the face of our footy club. We certainly lucked out when the club appointed Fly as senior coach. I'm sure he will also attract opposition players to our club.

As exceptional as his year was, Nick Daicos is wasted at half back. He needs to be moved further up the field where his impact will be unfathomable.
He will certainly move into the midfield, but I love to know how many goals he set up from the backline - it would be quite a few.

Noble was really exposed tonight but he was not the only one to disappoint. But he had his worst game for the year. Maybe he was asked to do too much.
Noble has been outstanding all year. He has proven himself already. He had a quieter game today as did many. That's it. How does that wipe away a brilliant year and often in pressure cooker games?

First commiserations, you guys had an amazing season and were very unlucky in the end, particularly with that Papley push in the back that wasn't called
Have watched your whole finals series, and if there is a weak link I can see its your number 9 (Noble?). I get that he tries hard, but his skill level just isn't up to it

Congratulations again on a fine season

GO order your copy of the game and watch it over and over again and enjoy the loss. That is what a loser does. And marvel at McRae's wonderful first half match ups. It is a thing of stupidity.
There were reasons for those match ups. Franklin was playing too far away from goal for Moore to go to him, we needed him deeper so he could cover multiple options.

Before the game you'd assess Reid as the more dangerous aerial threat anyway, which is who Moore went to.

They had three tall forwards, it's always a bit of a scramble for us in that situation. In any case it wasn't the back half match-ups that were at issue for me. The easy, quick ball movement into the 50 was more of a problem. We'd have struggled to defend that no matter what, as we have all year.

Not sure we can say the defensive match-ups were corrected in the 2nd half. Reid going off made things easier and their midfield ran out of legs.

Nope. For someone who has been watching Collingwood for about 150 years, you know surprisingly little about the game.

Our backline was under extreme pressure because Sydney were able to waltz the ball out of the front of stoppages at will in the first half, mainly because of the insipidness of Cameron. It wouldn't have mattered what the matchups in the backline were.

He's had a good year but in the heat if finals he freezes. How many times did he look like a deer in the headlights tonight?

Home and away games are irrelevant . Only finals matter.

He wont agree with that!!

Noble is definitely not our weakest link

We played three finals. He was good in two of them. The tackling and pressure was top drawer. He is fine.

Understand what you are saying but really the only gauge that matters is flags. We missed a chance and no one knows what will happen next year
That's what stings the most, another opportunity down the drain and the fact that some of our senior guys are getting more closer to retirement. We just have so much sh1t luck in finals

Agree. That's why I laugh at the Blues supporters who think it will automatically happen for them next season.

I reckon if cloke wasn't allowed to wear a glove to assist in marking, then the Swans shouldn't be allowed to lubricate themselves like a hooker at a bucks party with oil all over their arms.

They broke so many of our tackles where their arms would slip from grip, and get a handball out.
I know oil has been used for a long time but is there any difference vs a glove?

It was tactic used by them to assist them to break our pressure.
