Who in the AFL would you compare Black to ?

To be honest, I don't really know much about him, other than what i have read\. Some freakish displays, which at least shows he has some Xfactor about him and he was quite an accomplished Basketball Player, which i believe helps you see space and time a little quicker than the average footballer as well as helps your marking. Is able to kick bags of goals as well as play in th e midfield. By his own admission had injury worries for the first 10 rounds.

If you want to find some more about him the link below gives you quite a bit more info on Black than i could find in big footy, including Stats from his year.

He's been compared to Tippett by someone but if thats true is anyones guess.

just saw youtube footage on Joel Houghton, pretty impressive. What do you think?

Not pick 12. 43 or 59 would be good. Posted this just 20 seconds ago on those threads.
I am thinking Talia, Carlise or Tapscott. The former 2 would take a few years to become regular players, but you could argue they have more improvment left in them than Tapscot. Tapscott would be a great get. Awesome kick. Imagine he and Okeefe across opposite HF/HB lines. 2 kicks goal.

If Majaks youtube footage is all you had then he would go close to number one, however his worst must be pretty bad to be considered as a rookie by some.

impressive :thumbsu:

My choice would be to go for skill and excitement. If a small then Jetta to compliment the center square with good speed and skillful, ready to go next year will be turning 21yrs or a Tall in Aaron Black .
Either would provide unpredictability and excitement to our list .
If these were not available then the more conservative Tapscott or Talia either a solid option.
Ciao
Tapscott's video was very impressive. Hope he comes through to #12

This kid looks fantastic.

Looks super confident in the air.

Isn't it amazing how everybody looks like a champ in youtube reels....yet the recruiters are scratching their heads outside of 20......of course the youtube recruiters are kept happy ;)

WOW I like the look of that houghton kid!

Has anyone seen a young prospective draftee not look impressive on a youtube video?

;)

Hence why it's called a highlights package.
No such thing as a perfect footballer, although splendini is still looking for him.

*Shhhh, don't anybody tell him this type of footballer doesn't exist*

:)

Thanks Einstein :p

I was being facetious. People here jump on a draftee after a good youtube video quicker than Gilly would jump on a local blonde.

The perfect footballer does indeed exist.

I got that J.
I was agreeing with you. As you said, i've never seen a bad youtube video either.

We all know how WH approaches draft day. He has his list ranked in order, and he selects who's on top of that list our turn comes about. I'm not really that fussed who we take this year, although I suspect it will be tall. Suspect all of the good mids will be gone by the time it gets to our selection.
Tapscott or Sheppard might just slip down a bit to our pick, and if we are going to lean by needs just a touch then Sheppard should be our man.:thumbsu::)

Position: Defender/Onballer

Brad Sheppard has come to the attention of recruiters more than ever in 2009. He spent the year playing for East Fremantle in the WAFL, as well as representing his state (Western Australia if you hadn’t picked already) in the AFL NAB U18 Championships. He managed 15 seniors appearances in the WAFL and earned himself All Australian selection in the U18 Championships as a back pocket.

Although Bradley Sheppard spent much of his younger years as a forward, Sheppard has really thrived in his 2009 role of a rebounding defender. He managed an average of 16 possessions in the U18 championships, and had an efficiency rating of just over 75%.

Bradley Sheppard's pace and accurate long kicking has been a real asset to him, and he clearly prefers to use his feet to dispose of the ball having gathered twice as many kicks than handballs in the WAFL. Bradley Sheppard also has the ability to play in the midfield and on the ball, and this versitility will not be overlooked by selectors at the draft table.

Bradley Sheppard also managed to gain an invitation to the 2009 Draft Camp, polling in the top ten for both the repeat sprints and the 20 meter sprint.
