Wait, when did I say anything about Libba's kicking?

I thought you implied it by comparing him to Cross. Here are some stats comparing all three this year.

Libba averages 10 kicks and 13.5 handballs a game.
Boyd averages 13 kicks and 15.8 handballs a game
Cross averages 7 kicks and 18 handballs a game

Libba is very much a like Boyd in regards to stats. You don't seem to be giving Libba much credit at all for his outside game.

I've seen him twice this year and once last year, he was pretty ordinary but maybe I caught him on a bad day. I would much rather Jo Dare his team mate.

He's a rebounding defender with good foot skills and he can break the lines. The times I watched him he had poor defensive skills and needs to put on some more beef. I guess there's a lot of improvement left in him but I'd be disappointed if we got him at our first pick.
Played a bit with him a few years ago at school. Quality player and has great skills. IMO he's not really a defender but was playing there for Vic Country and was trusted with the kick-in duties. He's very good overhead too and has good athletic attributes. In saying this, I would think he would be around at our 2nd pick so don't think we'll be using pick#15 on him.

I absolutely never said anything about Libba's kicking. I just said his playing style was more similar to Cross than Boyd. Believe me, I rate Libba's kicking and outside work but I just don't think he's the same type of player Boyd is and there's no way stats are going to convince me otherwise. Boyd's more of a quick type in a contestant situation while Cross usually goes at it hard. Also, you do realize Cross does kick the ball right?

If you re read your post again that's not what you said.

"I know Boyd isn't classy but his level of class I'd say is definitely ahead of Cross as he kicks the ball"

Anyway we obviously have different opinions on the matter so we will leave it at that.

Doggiesin08 what position do you see him playing at AFL level?

Yeah, his level of class is ahead of Cross and Liberatore for that matter. That's not to say Libba's not classy, I just think his game-style is more Cross-like. Both are slowish players.

Personally I think he'd be better suited to a wing or HFF. He could manage on a HBF but IMO his offensive game is better than his defence. Hadn't played with him for a while but was surprised when he was so deep in defence for Vic Country.

Bulldogsman, speaking of your mock draft which was a fine effort indeed, but correct me if I am wrong but I didn't see Jasper McMillan-Pittard anywhere, I believe he could go as high as first round maybe even to us, your thoughts?

I'm not sure someone with a name like that can play for the doggies. Perhaps Melbourne would be a better fit? Failing that a career in polo or fox hunting may beckon.

Well the hyphen was only part of it.

As for C.M.M. I don't think he played a senior game, gave up footy and has become a successful rower which seems quite appropriate really.

No Del-re doesn't come close to qualifying, he was born to play for the dogs.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Bulldogs took Jake Carlisle if he were available. As reluctant as I am to believe the Dogs will take a Key Forward, Carlisle is probably the exception considering he can play in Defence too (similar to Liam Jones) giving our development more flexibility as far as Key Position players go. He might be gone by our pick though, it seems clubs like Melbourne, Carlton and Sydney are going to be hungry for KPPs.

Mark Stevens in yesterday's Herald Sun suggested we may pick him up.

In his Q & A on the AFL website, I was pleased to read this:

Q. Which AFL team do you support and how did you come to barrack for them?

A. Western Bulldogs as both grandfathers barrack for them.

I'd personally rather guys like Sheppard or Moore and a few others over Carlisle (if available), but I guess they want to go tall and don't like the ones at our second pick.
