He stood up to the knocks well in the first quarter from those arseholes tbh such a shame it's entering career over territory now. It's time unfortunately. Was pretty sickening watch the Hawks players actively target him with hits to the head while he was on the ground.
Yeah saw it quite clearly in the southwest pocket. What a bunch of campaigners.
This is starting to move into medical negligence territory. We keep putting him out there and he keeps getting minor head knocks that result in concussions. I'm no expert but it feels plain as day to me that this is exactly the type of thing that will be pointed to in a class action to show that the AFL and clubs didn't take concussion seriously enough.
Massive overreaction.Needs to retire immediately, pathetic from the club to gamble on his health like that.
lol but kenny said some words to a guy who also says alot of words. It's time unfortunately. Was pretty sickening watch the Hawks players actively target him with hits to the head while he was on the ground.
Wasn’t one of those players Amon as well? We let him know it was a grub move. It's time unfortunately. Was pretty sickening watch the Hawks players actively target him with hits to the head while he was on the ground.
If he's got any sort of interest in coaching I'd absolutely give him a role. As others have said, he's had too much bad shit happen in his life, we need to look after him long term, especially given the concussions and potential associated mental health issues.
We are on the hook for a portion and anything beyond 3 years:Feel for him, hope medically he is fine.
But the backdrop to this is that he is about to commence a massive 5 year contract. It will be fascinating to see where it all ends up... if we are on the hook for even a portion of that contract our salary cap will be a mess, potentially for a long time.
The League wrote to clubs to explain its set of guidelines that will govern the total player payments relief for AFL and AFLW players who have to retire before the end of their contract due to a recommendation from the AFL concussion panel.

For AFL players affected, the guidelines have two key features – the ability to gradually pay the negotiated financial settlement with the player over the period of the contract and also maximum thresholds of salary cap relief within three years following the retirement.
In the year immediately following the retirement, the max threshold will be 90 per cent, the second year the max threshold will be 75 per cent and in the third year the max threshold will be 50 per cent.
I hope there is some sort of settlement between club and player that reduces the burden. We are on the hook for a portion and anything beyond 3 years:
Clubs to get cap relief for medically retired players

We took a risk offering that under his injury cloud. He definitely should retire, it’s not his fault at all, but it was obvious he was conscious about his head during the gameFeel for him, hope medically he is fine.

Yeah MG marking attempt. Knee hit back of Todds neck. He stumbled a bit. Commentary said he passed the concussion test. Obviously not. A mobile Todd at the MCG would be useful. Not sure they will pick him now even if we make it that far. At least Dixon wont be caught out as much at the SCG.Was there a specific incident? I didn't see anything at the ground. Just watching the replay now, beginning of the 2nd.
