I mean potentially, it may have unlocked something. DBJ was quite decent in the half forward roaming role today.
Given that our “skilful” goal sneak forwards are a shambles (Rioli, Fantasia), we might need to start relying on scrappy avenues to goal again. DBJ as a high HF would be a better option than Rioli. Rioli just concedes ground too easily. He’s not fighting anywhere near hard enough.

It was all too easy for Dyl. He got so bored beating the Swans that in the last quarter he increased the degree of difficulty by not even looking at the ball when he outmarked his opponent.

Yeah never mind that any other coach would have dropped Dbj a year ago and not have waited until Williams is a whisker away from delisting to give him his 2nd game.

The media is full of morons
In fairness it was only late last year they swapped him down back to see what he could do there… probably should have tried it earlier maybe..

Not going to lie about how surprised I was with Dylan's game.

Anyone that's watched him knows he's clean and he generally executes skills at a high level. He can take huge pack grabs, he can kick mercurial goals. His question marks have always been set shot conversion, possibly pace, work rate and ability to stay in games.

i didn't think after what I saw in the SANFL and last week against the Crows, that he'd be able to step that intensity level up, and work hard enough to be successful at AFL level. There were a few moments his work rate in particular were concerning.

But I can't fault his game. He did a great job. He was very solid defensively, all night, and that last quarter a few of his possessions and his mark at key moments were just crucially clean.

in defence, he won't get a choice when it comes to being involved, his conversion won't matter, it'll purely come down to work rate and his speed. Game 1 showed good signs. Will be interesting to see if he can keep it going and salvage a career. Especially with Jones, Burgoyne, DBJ all out of that side and nipping at his heels.

Showed great mental resilience not to drop his head after that absurd htb was paid against him. Put it behind him and continued on unfazed.

He has a touch of self belief even arrogance about his play that sets a player apart.
