Unless the forward line starts miraculously working against Carlton he will be playing very soon.

Houston, Amon and Farrell can go OVER any ineffective forward structure so are essential to Hinkley wins.

He’ll play.

I’d give him a bit longer and encourage him to find lots of the ball at SANFL level for the next few weeks (25+ touches). He’s looking good though.

Not sure we've got the luxury
If Motlop or Rozee put in another stinker, or Gray is cooked early in the game again. It should be an easy decision.
Sadly this is now a 50/50 chance. At any rate reckon his TOG is likely to be pretty low. Not only is this going to be Robbie's last season

I think he'll be lucky to get thru' it. :(

I see a Andrew Moore type ceiling

Maybe. He’s a different type of player though. He has speed and skill even if he has limited sideways evasion and not a real contestedness to his game. I’d like to see him get his work rate up further at SANFL level by playing in the centre and having a more consistent presence in matches, not just flashing in and out. If he can do that in the next few weeks then I’d be more confident that we have a different and improved Farrell and not just one he’ll be a tiny upgrade on Motlop and Rozee-flop.

He's comming back from a knee. If he can contribute this year, and have a real breakout year in 2023, that would be more realistic.

You're really triggered by that no.20 huh?

Triggered is the wrong word. I'm just not blinded by draft pick number and am calling it as I see it. He hasn't shown anything to suggest he's better than a fringe AFL player for years now. And his form this year is actually below that level and someone like Farrell certainly deserves an opportunity in his place.

Very hard to argue with this. In 2020, we used the sore foot excuse. People tried it through part of 2021 too. Rozee himself keeps grimacing and screwing up his face every week this year (funny how rarely you see Wines, Drew or Boak do that and they play where the heat is high). He’s also become a serial flopper who goes to ground at the first hint of pressure. When he is upright, he runs around in circles. So bloody disappointing.

I like him because of his beautiful kick and he has a bit of poise around the ball. We desperately need players with poise. Too many panic merchants
He can’t be quieter than McEntee, Motlop or Rozee have been this year. Similarly, if Robbie’s recent form line holds true, it’s questionable how much more he offers than Dylan Williams would.
