Remember the reaction in the room when we called out Dale Thomas at pick 2? And Pendlebury at pick 5?

I do remember the reaction... to Thomas especially, but Pendles was also a surprise.

Everyone thought we were going Ellis at 2. Hoping we get that kind of result rather than 2013 (fingers crossed the Berg still becomes a contributor).

This year there are so many players in that 6 to 20 range that could easily go at 6. That's why we are in such a unique position this year.

Rayner, LDU, Cerra, Brayshaw and Dow seems to be the consistent top 5 (Brayshaw maybe less than the other 4 but still highly regarded). Then there's us, either catching the slider or with first shot at the "best of the rest".

Can't help but think there will be some very, very good players out if this draft. Might be because I've been so into it this year, but there are some less-than-perfect players with huge potential.

I'm thinking the opposite. I hope we make a song and dance about him passing our medical in the hopes that North will take him, leaving one of the 5 to drop to us.

That being said, if Stephenson passes the medical I'd have no complaints about taking him. It just depends on how well he passes the medical. If there is any risk whatsoever I'd be giving him a miss.

I'll be so happy with Stephenson if he's fit to go. I also think our lack of desperate need for midfielders means the risk is lesser. Not that we or anyone can afford to throw away a top ten pick but you know, risk vs. reward and all that.

So Fogarty is another midfielder? He looks good in his highlights but we really don’t need to be getting another mid... give me Naughton please as he fills a need. Our team needs a spine, let’s staet building one. The only KKP we’ve drafted is Moore and he picked himself with a father son.

I get the feeling Fogarty and Stephenson will be the two we need to flip the coin on
(assuming it goes Rayner, LDU, Dow, Cerra, Brayshaw in no particular order)

If NM take Fogarty at 4, we may have Brayshaw and Stephenson to choose form.
(assuming Freo take Cerra at 5 and not Brayshaw)

If you go through the draft re picks on the AFL site there is some fair sort of adjustment. Pendles at No.1 in hindsight and Daisy at 8.
