Having Ollie and Dixon in the team could be a bit anxiety producing for some oppo teams.

Nope it leaves 2 years. Drafted in 2012 then under the current rules he is a free agent after the 2020 season. This new contract ends in October 2018.

7 years at the club right? that would make 2019.

As well as being ecstatic...I must admit I was slightly disappointed that it was only for a further 2 years (not 5 or more) but upon further reflection its very obvious why Ollie has signed for 2. You would think in three years’ time, at the end of the contract, the succession plan for Ollie to move into the captaincy would be in full swing. Therefore as captain you would be expecting to be paid one of the highest salaries in the club. Would make the most sense financially for Ollie to sign a long term deal at that stage when the landscape becomes a lot clearer.

And as he said he is from Echuca so he is going to feel just at home in Adelaide as he would in Melbourne.

Of course alot can change in 3 years. Fingers crossed its only Danger’s footy game he plans on taking after.

I misread the rule I thought a player qualified after seven years not in his eighth.

JACK Ziebell will spend the night in hospital after suffering bruising to his lungs in North Melbourne's brave eight-point loss to Port Adelaide at Etihad Stadium on Saturday night........
Ziebell copped a heavy knock to the abdomen as he tried to spoil Ollie Wines in a marking contest midway through the first quarter. The Kangaroos midfielder was coughing up blood as he was helped from the field and played no further part in the game.
