Leadership qualities are outstanding. Would I actively look to replace Boak? No. But if Boak suggested he wanted to throw some of the burden off his shoulders to refocus then Ollie would be the one I reckon.

Don't like the idea of giving Ollie the captaincy so young. Melbourne did that with Grimes and Trengove and neither of them have been the same player since then.

Actually was chatting with someone who knows yesterday. He threw a show for the club and told a pretty good story about Ollie and friends and their antics when they showed up at what was a fairly upmarket do. Very funny won't repeat the story but he did remind me that they are just kids still having a good time and maybe another year or two off captaincy so maybe I'm going a little early on the captaincy for him.

Underrated season.

Was a leader in our midfield when more senior players couldnt.

Carried our midfield all year really.

Disposal sucks but our game plan stings all our players and it magnifies on players like Ollie.

Damian Barrett was asking why Ollie Wines didn't win the Showdown Medal. Certainly he must have been very close to it, if not in fact more deserving than Crouch. What may have got Crouch over the line would have been that his disposals probably ended up counting for a bit more. Ollie had 28 disposals(16 contested) at 71.4% DE, 4 marks and 6 tackles while Crouch had 33(11 contested) disposals at 78.8% DE, 6 marks and 6 tackles.
Another, and more likely reason, was that he was from the winning team. Although votes are often published the fact remains that in the whole history of the Showdown Medal(first awarded in 2000) only two members of a losing team(Graham Johncock in 2003 and Shaun Burgoyne as a joint winner in 2005) have won the medal.

So the mystery of Ollie at the airport yesterday.
Cathay Pacific announced as our official International Airline Partner for next year plus Ollie to spend more time up forward (kicking goals to support Dix) rather than resting on the bench during his recovery stints. I saw at their first training at Grange Ollie training in front of goals with Hentschel and thought hmmm. He also wants to be a Commercial pilot post footy.

Port Adelaide contested ball king Ollie Wines has revealed he is spending more time training as a forward this pre-season as he seeks to add more goals to his game and to support an attack which has lost four-times leading goalkicker Jay Schulz.
Clearance specialist Wines has kicked just 37 goals in 84 matches since being selected at pick seven at the 2012 national draft and is disappointed that when he is taken out of the midfield rotation it is to usually rest on the interchange bench.
Next season he wants to “rest’’ in attack and try to hit the scoreboard more in what he believes will be another important string to his bow
