You say that first statement as though it invalidates my opinion. Buckley will be wrong from time to time. If he sees Clarke as a defender than yeah i'd say he is wrong.
I think you need to settle, take a breath Q and accept my word that the above statement (Re: "invalidating your opinion") is absolutely not my intention. There is no right or wrong RE: either of our opinions, or Buck's for that matter. Time alone will tell?

I totally respect your opinion, whilst you have been around forever in comparison you simply need to check my history to see that we have shared a number of likes and good willed comments.

Disagree. It's an advantage but hardly a prerequisite for that position. I'd say a big tank to push into space, good footskills, footy nous to know when to link offensively, and importantly to time that run are the most important qualities to look for in a winger. Maybe we see the position differently.

I think we see the position along similar lines Q! Agree with your criteria, add to that tackling and defensive pressure and we have a handy winger/ HF/ HB/ football player.

I guess I have a preference for the taller Millane/ Brown/ Young type winger that have the above capabilities plus height and marking strength. Then you have your shorter type winger in say a Graham Wright who was also a great winger.

Whilst not being the only prerequisite surely marking (my concern with Clarke) and pace (your concern) are important ingredients when playing on the wing where there is often more space and more 1 on 1 contests.
