My point still stands on him being over his prime, but I guess not being a Melbourne supporter my advice on his job-security could be debatable. We saw though with Richmond towards the end of the season how they started to drop well-established players in the team for youngsters, but I guess you as a Melbourne supporter have the view that he is at a much higher level to players such as the ones dropped by the tigers.

Warnock, Carlton spent a lot of time, effort and money to get the big guy over from Freo and I think with Fevola's departure Kreuzer is going to be required in the forward line a lot more regularly if not for pinch hitting purposes alone.

Warnock adds a different dimension and better flexibility to the Carlton squad and comes with big wraps and expectations. The only concern is that Cloke or Hampson had a big pre-season but this being said a lot of Carlton supporters are keen to see young Robbie earn his pay.

Skipper, Loobe, Trengrove are all back up ruckmen at best. Skipper is behind Taylor and Renouf, Lobbe behind Westhoff and Brogan and trailing last is Jackson Trengrove unless he manages to tie down a major defensive role which I doubt.

Banner or Bastinac or Shuey

Banner vs Shuey vs Bastanic pick two of them who will get the most games and has the most scoring potential
banner and shuey both played well in the nab cup, bastinac yet to play. The shue is probably the best mid considering his price this year. rated by players and coaches as the best of all our young mids and will play all 22 games barring injury. played 1 and a half quarters on friday and scored 50 dt points... gun of highest order.

kennelly vs colin garland

kennelly vs colin garland

Definitely Kennelly.

My understanding is Kennelly is fitter than he's ever been, and has impressed in every intra-club the Swans have played.

Garland has been working up to a full training load and his pre-season has been interrupted. He will also play primarily as a key position back; certainly not a free, play-making flanker like Kennelly.

I don't quite agree. Warnock and Frawley will take the two key forwards and Rivers will be third man up. Garland has the ability and agility to play tall or small. That said, it will be interesting to see how Warnock, Frawley, Rivers, Joel MacDonald and Garland all gel.

Dangerfield vs Ziebell

both are cheap and should average 70-80. both fwd/mid aswell

Get both! :D

But if you only want one then you have to way up whether Ziebell is worth the extra ~60K. I reckon Ziebell will average a touch more then Danger, but factoring in value then I'd choose Dangerfield - the cash left over you could make up the lost points in other areas. But like I said earlier, why not get both? They're argubly the two best forward mid-pricers I've currently got them as my 5th and 6th forward.

ellis vs harbrow?

Tough one, I'd go Hardbrow. Has sealed his place in the starting 22 of a top four side as a tough rebounding defender. Ellis has injury concerns and will be behind Mitchell, Hodge, Burgoyne, Lewis, Bateman etc for midfield time and will be competing with Hodge (can play back or mid) Guerra, Ladson, Gibson, Birchill etc for a spot in the backline. Ellis has more scoring potential from my point of view but is less reliable for gametime or durability, Hardbrow vice-versa.

When in doubt, durability is priority.

Waite Vs Mcphee Vs Drummond

tough one maybe look at mcphees nab cup. and judge it on that

Ryan murphy or giansiracusa

Definitely Gia from what I've seen and heard. Scored the most for the Bulldogs on the wknd against Brisbane and is meant to be super fit atm. I have Gia ;)

Masten & Josh Hunt

OR

Joel Macdonald & Morabito

Masten and Hunt for mine, Macdonald is a bit of an unkown, as long as Hunt can break into the best 22 (with no Harley he would be a fair chance i'd suggest) he will score fairly solidly and Masten will hopefully improve.

Gianciracusa vs Pavlich vs Higgins

and

Polkinghorne vs Mayne vs Dangerfield

For me I would just have to go with the same old big footy hyped players in Pav and Danger. Pav's move back to the forward will ensure more high scores, consistent scores for him. He may not average the most out of those three but I can't see Gia or Higgins playing 22 games this year. For Pav, I can.

Dangerfield just looks so good. Mayne, I am worried about his role for Freo and Polkinghorne I don't think with the inclusion of there trades and draft picks can fit in the midfield. Danger is in favour at Adelaide, therefore should be the best out of the 3

Waters or Hunt (7th back) with Sheppard on bench.

Waters or Hunt (7th back) with Sheppard on bench.

Waters IMO. Hunt's never been a good scorer and Waters has more scoring potential as seen in 2007.

Darren Jolly or Hamish McIntosh? I'm tempted to downgrade one of them in order to free up cash to upgrade one of the rookies currently on field.

Waters

Should play next round of NAB cup, and when he is fit, he can go back to his days of averaging 80
Despite Hunts role in the Geelong side, he never was a mass acumulator of the ball, due to of course Milburn, Enright and Mackie getting the ball down back

EDIT: and because the above poster beat me to the post
Cant go wrong with either, but i think Mcintosh purely because you know what you will get from him
If you are playing it safe = Mcintosh
If you want a bit of risk/reward = Jolly

I dont usually weight into these kind of threads, but i have an interesting choice to make

Option A: Kruezer, Mcphee and Giansiracusa/Harvey
or
Option B: Hille, O'Keefe and Enright

Option B is very tempting, but i want to see Hille play some sort of proper football, before i consider him for my team
Option A is rather safe, with all those players expected to improve slightly

Thoughts ?

Chad Cornes for me will play all 22 unless injure cuts him down. I have wonders if Carazzo is a 100% lock in for the 22 week in week out...

McLean vs Morton
Ziebell (forward) vs Williams vs Medhurst
Hall vs Rioli
Gibbs vs Mitchell

The only reason I say Mitchell is it is much more unique and if you were thinking of Gibbs I would recommend that you spend an extra 10k and look at Bartel.

Chad Cornes or Carrazzo ?

Also looking for a cheap forward.....currently have Gumbleton but I dont trust him.

Edit - Oh, and I prefer option B ^^^

Another option for a chepie forward is Hitchcock based on his NAB persormance last week.

Goddard and Franklin V Fisher and Goodes

And what is the vibe on taking Frankli despite his forst round suspension?

I'd be taking Goddard and Franklin personally. Goddard, Fisher and Goodes are probably all accurately priced, so they won't increase in value much. Franklin, on the other hand, is underpriced imo.

I'd say that as long as you have adequate bench cover for Franklin in the first round, then it's safe to pick him.

definately goddard and franklin - not convinced fisher will be as free this year and buddy way underpriced. Should get 200 points per week between them without fail. goodes may start slow, having said that, I've locked him in

Ablett and Pendlebury OR Swan and Selwood ?

def take buddy its only 1 game out of 22 he will more then make up for it in the rest of the season

id got ablett and pendlebury i think

i got enough cash to upgrade one of my rookies. just deciding whether to upgrade my midfield rookie to Andrew Lovett (stk) or my forward rookie to Matthew Stokes (gee)..... hmmm choices choices
