I'd personally go with Gia, as Pav has to rely on the Fremantle mids. And although they are improving, they're not exactly the best in the competition.

Renouf or Hille?

Hille has done alright in the NAB challenge games. Has a 65 and 97 DT points in his 2 NAB challenge games and was a proven player before his injury. Renouf has a 44 and 45. Go Hille.

Gia looked ripped and primed.

Hille seems so risky. Not at this stage for me.

hence the price of 200-odd K. it's like buying a write-off merc. if the repairs hold up, it's all good at half the cost. risk versus reward. sometimes you've got to gambooool.

I need a midfielder around the 450K mark.

Mitchell, Boyd, J.Selwood, M.Murphy, Stanton, Pendlebury, Vince.

Whose the best pick up?

Thanks

Any of the first 3 imo. I think Murphy may be starting late due to injury or suspension(could be wrong tho) Stanton would be fine. Pendles could be good but perhaps durability is a question. Vince i think is injured atm but should be write for round one. Id probably go one of the first 3 if i was you...Leaning toward selwood.

Swan and Harbrow

vs

Goddard and Watson

???

Option 2 imo! You know exactly what you will be getting....Harbrow is still a tad of a mystery....

Boyd/Mitchall or Watson + 50k???

Watson obv has a huge upside compared to Boyd/Mitchall???

Can possibly increase ppg by 10/15.......

Medhurst. He's the only keeper out of the 3 IMO. Hall could be, but he needs too much to go right for him.

yeh my thinking is keep him for the year barring injury.

or get hall, hope he fires and trade him out for a gun around round 5 to 7 or when his form drops/injury/suspension/rested by the club happens

Option 1 imo........Trengove should average close to McVeigh but is so much cheaper!!!

Which option??? - one of last decisions.......

Goddard, Ball, Hille OR Harbrow, Watson, Tippett

...one of last decisions

harbrow, watson and tippet for me. imo watson and tippet will easily outscore hille and ball.. sure goddard will beat harbrow but not by as much as the other two combined. this does however bring me to my question

harbrow + hunt
v
dempsy + kenelly (plus 30k to improve rooks)

harbrow more of a keeper than dempsy maybe? any thoughts would be great

Boyd/Mitchall or Watson + 50k???

To be honest I like Watson there. I think Boyd is what he is, I see no real way he improves from what he has done.

Mitchell is a minor worry with all the injuries around him, he was looking like possibly playing that sweeper role that he racks up 35 touches at but with a host of midfield injuries that may have to wait. Last year things started similarly and he fell pretty hard in value then when players started getting back he boomed. I can see a very similar result this year. Watson I like a lot to improve a bit because the word is he is the fittest he has been and hopefully that means more TOG. Also expect Prismall and Winderlich to take some attention from him as they continue to improve and finally be healthy. I think all 3 will end up averaging about the same this year, so why not go the cheaper option.

Lance Franklin or Robbie Gray

Franklin costs more and misses round 1 but probably has a higher upside. Gray has looked really good in pre-season but I would keep my ear to the ground regarding a potential hammy injury. If picked for round 1 he should be good to go but it will be a risk, the Chapman comparison begins for me ;).

James Kelly or Andrew Carazzo?

I like the certainty of Kelly. If fit he is in Geelongs best 22 and they score a lot. He will probably score between 70 and 120 in every game averaging in the mid 80s. Carazzo still looks like being used in that disgusting forward tag role that kills his scoring. I also don't like the uncertainty with just about everything relating to Carlton. They may know that Carlton are coming but no one has a clue what it will look like or if it will be any good. So far Warnock is the only Carlton player I have in my team. Have looked at Scotland, Carazzo, Gibbs, Kreuzer, Betts, Yarran and Henderson and have not been able to find a great reason to pick any. Waite I plan on waiting to see and have on the watchlist as a great upgrade target.
