I'd go Mitchell, when he's on fire he cleans up possessions. Plus the inclusion of Burgoyne and having Young + Ellis back will free him up. Also Hodge through the midfield.. There's only so many players that can be covered...

ROK & Brown is a hard one, i'd personally go ROK due to the fact he's usually pretty consistent with scores...

I have a couple...

Brogan + Warnock vs Hille + Charman

Martin vs Ziebell

Burgoyne vs Boak

Morton vs McLean

Rioli vs Dangerfield

Can someone help me out with this...

selwood, as he is chepaer and gibbs will liekly get tagged in the first 3 rounds, with judd out of action
but im looking to pick gibbs up in round 4 or so

Everyone is quoting this now and personally I don't see it as to much of a problem (if not a blessing - no Judd = more Gibbs?). I mean, you could say that Selwood will get the #1 for the all the games Ablett will miss during the season (which is almost inevitable). Besides, Gibbs might not get the #1 tag if Murphy is playing!

Carlton are playing Richmond, Brisbane, and Essendon in their first three games. Who's going to keep him quiet? Richmond have Daniel Jackson, who did a few good jobs last year. Brisbane have Rischitelli and i think T.Selwood tags sometimes, both are not proven stoppers. Welsh has done some good jobs but he too is not a brilliant tagger. Gibbs is a strong lad and i would feel confident with him in my team during the first 3 rounds.

Green would be my pick then Ball, McLean is a bit of an unkown and salopek has massive question marks over him (if he can increase his average to be a real premium mid).

O'Keefe + Dangerfield or LeCras + Gray

O'Keefe + Dangerfield quite comfortably.

1 top liner and one player who's price is likely to rise $80k+ vs 2 good players, but neither likely to finish in the top 10 scoring forwards.

here is one that is doing my heaad in

ball vs mclean vs green vs salopek pick one
Had Salopek in my team last year and he is frustrating... goes missing and it annoys you to death. Green is over his prime and personally I wouldn't be certain about his job security. Then comes Ball and McLean, I would love to have one of these in my team but at their price it doesn't fit with my structure. If McLean roams around free and get cheap possessions but if he resumes a tagging role or a more defensive role I would be more obliged to pick Bally.

Harbrow or McPhee
Josh Kennedy or Robbie Gray?

Gray and McPhee (assuming you want to take a bit of a risk), Harbrow really over-achieved last year in my opinion whereas a new role for McPhee could mean him returning to his DT scores of a few years ago.

Here's another one

Dangerfield vs Mayne vs Polkinghorne

Deffinatley Trengrove... easily.

My dilemma is either R. O'keefe or Leon Davis. I can afford both, I'm thinking davis but have no idea how is pre-season has gone.

Your thoughts?

I think that unless you already have Goodes then you should be going for him. I wouldn't be going for Davis because I think that he will sow down a bit this year. Goodes will be unstoppable this year at Centre Half-Forward and possibly spending some time in the centre. He had a massive average last year when he spent time at CHF and I would expect that to continue in 2010. The problem with O'Keefe is like Didak when he gets tagged hsi scoring can sometimes deplete. I would expect O'Keefe to get more attention this year after ripping it up last year.

I would like people's thoughts on Jarrad Waite in comparison to Buddy. I am an agonising, 2k short of the team that I want and am trying to find the best player to downgrade slightly so I can fit Robbie Gray in my team.

Which option do you prefer... Downgrading Carazzo to Mackie
or Downgrading Buddy to Waite
or Rockliff to Hitchcock/Davis (I've got 3 rookies in the forward line [TDL, Gumby, Rockliff] and starting one of them)

McLean + Rioli + Williams/Medhurst + Maguire

vs

Morton + Hall + Williams/Medhurst + Webberley

and

Williams vs Medhurst

Out of the first two I would go McLean+Rioli+Williams/Medhurst Maguire, although I would change the players heaps.

I would go Medhurst over Williams.

Medhurst will be better than williams, he kicked 5 in the scratch match, i would also go mclean and rioli becuse they have the highest scoring potential but i would also take webberley becuase i think he will get more games than maguire.

Banner vs Shuey vs Bastanic pick two of them who will get the most games and has the most scoring potential cheers

Id do that

Mitchell and Pendlebury

Sewell and Gibbs

Stanton and Gibbs

Deledio and Bartel

Ive had started Stanton last three years, but he is very pricy this year for no guarantee of 100+ avg

Is there any point in having Waters on my emergency or do you think im better off using the 50k to upgrade another player in my starting 22?

I want to start 2 mid pricers in my midfield. Was seriously considering Cotchin, but not sure that he's over his re-ocurring injuries. So it's a choice between:

Armitage vs Swift vs Ward (already have Masten)

Thanks in advance.

i wouldnt pick armitage the st kilda midfield is all class and may struggle to get games

swift is a prolifc ball winnr and has done very well towards the end of last season

ward has the most upside should play 22 barring injury has enormous potential and he could be the travis boak of last year

Banner vs Shuey vs Bastanic pick two of them who will get the most games and has the most scoring potential

I really like the look of Armitage to be honest. Looks like the most likely replacement for Luke Ball's role which will result in much more game time this year. Swift is too risky in my opinion and I don't think that there is much risk/reward in comparison to Armitage. Ward is probably the safe bet. I can see him getting his average to around 80 or possibly 85 and playing almost all games. I'm going with Armitage on this one, especially with players like Bastinac and Banner to come in if he was to get dropped for a week or two. But personally I can't see that happening.

I am facing a similar dilemma but rather with Sheppard. With the lack of rookies in the backline and backmen usually susceptible to injury I can see some common sense in your approach. Not only will he make you cash, but he will also provide you with a valuable reserve if one of your backmen go down. You could possibly consider downgrading Waters to Sheppard if you think that the cash could be in better use else-ware. I am still not sure how much game time Sheppard will get this year so if a West Coast fan could help me out with that, it would be much appreciated.:thumbsu:

Banner and Bastinac for me. I'm not convinced that Shuey can successfully cement a pace in the West Coast side especially with the emergence of some of their draft picks in previous years. Having said that, Bastinac's place in North's midfield could be uneasy but we will have to wait and see as we watch him in the NAB Cup this weekend. Shuey for me will be a downgrade target towards the start of the season (Round 7 or 8) when injuries start to first kick in.

What ?

Green is in the best 3 players at the club, in his late 20's - i.e in his prime, fully fit, and many gave him BOG in Saturday's intraclub (although I had Trengove).

Extraordinarily poor advice on "job security". Laughable in fact.
