Hibberd no certainty, essendon have a very depthy list going into the 2011 season. So im not overly confident hes a week in week out game player. Hasnt been overly impressive in the NAB although hes hardly been terrible either.

OPTION 1
liam anthony + petrie (mzungu on mids bench)

OR

OPTION 2
mzungu (on fwd field) + montagna/pendlebury (and replace mzungu on mids bench with another rookie)

The reason I'm thinking of doing this is because, I think Mzungu is a waste on the mids bench (D. Swallow and Harris on the field instead) coz i think he'll score well, and near the same as Petrie.
Thanks in advance:)

Rawlings or Enright..

I think rawlings will have a big year, but I already have tarrant in the back..

not sure enright will do better than last year too

Id much prefer Enright

I personally dont like picking players who have just had a massive boost to there avg like Rawlings has. Hes old, that wont affect him and he is extremely durable type but still its something you have to think about it 30+. He plays for a much weaker team, Geelong were comfortably the highest scoring DT side last year and North Melbourne sat at 12th. Basically Geelong play better DT than what they actually are on the AFL ladder and the opposite occurs for the roos.

Than you have all the positives that Enright can offer with little to none negativies. Hes extremely durable, you know what your gonna get with your money, possible upside with possible increased time in the midfield (he us to play the ablett role before Ablett became GOD). The downsides are the new coach, will this have a poor affect on the ever so strong DT side Geelong are/were. A drop off, will Geelong struggle to make the 4 and thus drop on the ladder thus scoring less points.

Id prefer Enright anyday, however i see better picks than them out there. Keep looking would be my suggestion.

i would say you should definitely go option 2. mzungu should be great value, and montagna or pendles are much more proven than anthony, so i reckon its much safer as well as being lucrative.

Enright vs Bruce vs Scotland.
quite suprised at the lack of interest in Scotland, he's DP,durable, and finished in the top handfull of backs last year. Age is obviously a concern but all three of the above mentioned players are 30+ or very close to it:confused:

Pretty sure the lack of interest is Scotland is largely due to most people locking in Gibbs already and neither would be selected highly in the midfield. Having said that I would take Enright out of those 3. He may get the upside of more midfield time but I expect that he will stay in his same role and be reliable as ever.

Option 1:

Bartel, Adcock & Zaharakis with $57,900 leftover

Option 2:

Josh Kennedy, Broughton & Rioli with ~$16,000 leftover.

Bearing in mind if option 2 my midfield will be:

Swan, Montagna, Boak, Anthony, Kennedy, D. Swallow (a bit of a risk)

Option 1 purely because of Bartel.
Probably use some of that 57.9k to upgrade Zaharakis.

Boyd + Gamble
vs.
Stanton + Knights

Rory Sloane vs Foley

Really tempted to get them both in, but if I do that my mids will become Swan Boyd Cotchin Foley Sloan Stanton .... Mzungu Harris Irons and i will have to have 2 more 80k rookies :p.

Boyd + Gamble
vs.
Stanton + Knights

Option 2 is high risk high reward whilst Option 1 is safer but probably not as good value. Stanton has a bye in round 24 so if you must be alright with that also. Knights probably has arguably the biggest potential of the mid priced forwards, a massive score today makes him more tempting also.
Gamble's job security is probably slightly better weighted solely against Knights' injury risk but when you add in each player's potential scoring to the equation, Gamble's ceiling is not high enough for me. He will be the same as a basic cash cow rookie - people like Gumbleton of last year for example. I don't think his job is safe enough to warrant spending the extra money. Better off taking the risk of trying to find one of those extra few solid rookie cash cows so, recapping, I'd go for Option 2.

Fyfe + Derickx/Bailey/someone else cheap who will likely not play more than a few games, giving sole reliance on Smith to cover during the byes

or

Knights + Vickery on bench with Smith

Your ruckman will miss at least 4 games this year (3 if you are very smart with trading) and everyone seems to accept that Smith will cover these. I really don't consider him at all trustworthy anymore. He has been at least somewhat injured most of this pre season which is even worse when it is a ruckman and I think he will be rested throughout the season regardless of injury. If he wasn't an option I'm sure people would be spending extra money for solid cover. As much as I think Fyfe will be a great bargain, I think the risk of Knights might be worth it because it will reduce the risk of having at least 4 potential donuts.

Leon Davis vs Yarran

Both forwards with role changes to the back, I think Yarran has the better job security but could be forward tagged if he gets a run of quality games together. Davis looked great tonight, and he wouldnt get tagged you wouldnt think. Early byes and job security against him. Already have Knights

Duffield is a better choice than Broughton IMO, Broughton's had an injury interrupted preseason.

Paul Puopolo or Simon Buckley?

Sandilands or Jolly?

Higgins or Rioli?

Sylvia or Goodes?

Neither. They are not Best 22.

Sandi easily

Higgins has got way more upside but more injury risk. I'd still go with Higgins anyway

Sylvia
