Playfair to Go - Get rid of him

We are not blaming the loss on Hank. Please read the replies in the thread before posting.

Can you READ !!!!!! The first post on page two said that Hank was absolute crap. Does that not say he's blaming him for that ???

Suggest you READ the other posts on other threads, which relate to the same player.

****WIT !!

If he hadnt thrown his career away by his performance all day, he did by being the player who was too slow to get off a possession in our own 50!

That is the last we will see of Henry Playfair.

The guy had less than a second to get it and dispose of it.

How about saying, Otto why didn't you bomb it long down the line instead of handballing it and turning it over ????

We had too many guys making big mistakes, Henry wasn't the only one.

Don't try and defend the bloke - he was way out of his league. In the first quarter when the game was in the balance he dropped a relatively easy chest mark, and I saw him massively out of position when the ball was kicked in on numerous occasions. You could blame the midfielders, but he should have at least created a contest in some of those incidents. The ****up at the end was just the nail in his coffin.

no... it means he's absolute crap.

definately doesnt say "hank lost us the game," his effort today was deplorable, and showed that he doesnt belong in the AFL, that's what this thread is about

So he's had one game to do something, what about Mooney ?? Poor today. Scarlett - Terrible, Byrnes - worse than terrible, Varcoe - See Byrnes, Wojak - poor decision making, and the list goes on.

Why start a thread on someone that coughed it up once which cost us. What about the times Scarlett, Milburn, Hunt, Kelly, insert whole team here coughed it up ???

There was that much poor disposal to the forwards and coming from the backline it wasn't funny.

Unlucky, but he had his chance and didn't perform. Sometimes that's just the way the cookie crumbles.

True, today he wasn't the best. However so was Byrnes and a few others, i.e. more senior ones. Varcoe was very ordinary. Whomever was playing on Burgoyne needs glasses or a texta to write his number on the back of their hand.

This should be the game we need to lose. Now can we stop the 'game we need to lose' threads.

Byrnes wasn't that bad. Did you see his spoil on Lade? His run half the length of the ground, taking on a few players? You're just spewing about his shot at goal that missed. One kick does not maketh the player.
Byrnes looked as though he was playing for keeps and made many of his usual errors but Henry looked so far out of his depth it was pitiful. Awful choice to include him. Just terrible!

52 actually, over four years. Managed to make the team for one game this year and had a shocker. He simply isnt good enough.

I realise he has had some chances, his first this year though. Look, there is a massive difference in the firsts/seconds it is pretty obvious. In a tough contest today a magoo's player is going to make mistakes.

What I cannot comprehend is poor play by our senior players, especially disposing under no duress, to then turn it over badly. Milburn and Scarlett were terrible today.

I just saw the replay of Henry deciding to lose the game for us... Bit harsh, but pretty true.
Yes other players were crap as well, but when it came down to 15 seconds on the clock it was Henry that stuffed up IMO.
:(

brings back some bad memorys i.e sydney final i know todays game wont affect us so im glad we got that out of the way but if H ends up playing in the finals i'll be pissed.

No wonder we lost. We were playing a man down. :p

But seriously, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Playfair play down back in the VFL, more often than not? I'd have actually preferred to see Charlie playing today.

His fumble which allowed Cassisi to goal and win the game for Port wasn't Henry's only disastrous mistake. It capped off a terrible performance. We can be thankful it wasn't a final. Agree that Charlie would have been a better option.

Not a big issue today folks, we lost by a kick, with some major players not included.

IMHO, we saw several key trades/de listings options today. Their lack of vision and disposal quality stood out like we haven't seen all year. Playing in the magoos is one thing, but stepping up and at the senior is a completely different ball game.

It might just be me, but IMO I noticed we tended to give up on the corridor more than usual today and there were a few players content to play along the boundary.

Owning the corridor will win us games more than lose them.

YES, he had a terrible game, and yes, he should probably get delisted.
But NO, he wasn't the reason for us losing the match. Typical Geelong supporters wanting to find a scapegoat whenever we lose. If you honestly think that one mistake cost us the match you are kidding yourselves. There were plenty of other mistakes during the game by different players, but they won't be remembered because they didn't happen in the last 30 seconds. Get a grip people!!

Its easy to say that now.

disappointing game overall. henry should never have been put in but its not entirely because of him that we lost. but he should never make a re-appearance in the afl again. simply not up to it. fingers crossed we have selwood and bartel back next week. how long have we lost ling for with his hammy?

They won't be remembered because they didn't have an over all affect in the result of the game.
Of course I'm going to blame Henry when it was his mistake that led to the winning goal.
Unfortunate, but true.

Watch at 1.18. Hank the octopus had plenty of time to get it on the boot. What was he doing looking for a handpass in the first place? He is GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONE.

has no place at the gfc and is wasting his and everyone elses time there. his mistake cost us the game and thats fact. but hes not the only one.

still stunned as to why he was picked as a replacement for ling, i don't think charlie would've been ideal either. it was a warm day and always going to be a tough test of endurance and fitness I can't see why when we were already missing selwood and bartel that we brought in another big forward??
