ok i'm having serious problems signing into my ps3.

if ever there's been a problem in the past it tells me what error i'm getting. atm it's just telling me that a connection to the network could not be established even though my net is working fine.

so not only can i not game online...but i can't stream my tv shows/movies either! ps3 media server is actually telling me that my ps3 can't be found when i'm pretty sure i can still stream media even when i'm not signed in....

any ideas?

Do you have your PS3 on a fixed IP or is it dynamic?

Might be an IP conflict try resetting your router

i just tried an internet connection test and it failed to even find an IP adress....how the hell could i lose my ps3's IP address?

Well for starters is the cable still plugged in?

Do you connect your PS3 direct to the router/switch or via your PC?

Have you tried the router/switch reset?

thanks ant, i didn't actually try that earlier as my sister was doing some important work so i didn't want to stuff up the connection at the time for her.

Is it really that big because I downloaded via the PS3 rather than online from the ps3 site which is what I usually do.
It seemed to go rather quick, and yeah just for that.... kinda stupid

Everytime they add something they have to re-compile the entire firmware. So everytime there's a firmware update you have to download the whole thing again (Which is 150mb at the moment).

Pointless update. And they make it so you HAVE to download otherwise you can't go online. It's a joke. It's not as if you need the update to play online.

Had 1 or 2 people online (usually around 10-15) all last night and had massive lag playing online because there were so few online.

A few of the updates have been optional(but then later needed if you wanted to play a game lie Borderlands ).

I'm guessing they've patched up some security problems (hackers).

They still haven't given up cross game chat!

You want to buy them online as they're a terrible price here unless you get a free game with them. The white one is only $56 and they all work perfectly.

Socom delayed

SOCOM 4’s officially ducked out of 2010, and will instead be deployed into the deep, dark reaches of 2011.
“While we’re certainly aware that you’ve been looking forward to playing SOCOM 4 this year, we don’t want to take any shortcuts. Instead, we want to deliver the best and most immersive SOCOM game we possibly can and we’re going to use our extra time to do just that,”

The highlighted seems to be the standard response these days after giving unreachable release dates.

It's understandable. It's 99% more to do with CoD:BO as well as LBP2 and GT5 coming out around when SOCOM 4 would've.

Gonna be interesting to see where they put it now though, Killzone 3 is in Feb so maybe a few months after that we'll see SOCOM 4?

Yeah, that would be my bet. Then it makes you wonder when titles like inFAMOUS 2 (this looks like it's moved into Sony's BIG franchise books though as opposed to the first which was mid 2009 and only going on the new IP rate, now it looks to be getting Uncharted 2 like backing), Resistance 3 (despite not being announced it will have been 3 years since 2, come late 2011), Motorstorm 3 and Twisted Metal will be released.

Around June-July would be where I'd base SOCOM 4 to come out, maybe April at earliest.

Gonna be a good time for gaming that's for sure.

Insomniac’s confirmed that it’ll be showing off its new title anytime between now and PAX Central

The news came via the studio’s newsletter that was released earlier this evening, further confirming the title will be a new “PlayStation 3 project”, which severely hints at it being a first-party SCE title, and not its upcoming multi-platform game for PS3 and 360 with EA Partners.

It’s thought the title Insomniac is currently developing for Sony is R3

from what i've seen, playstation plus is absolutely useless for a guy like me who buys a SHITLOAD of psn games....which is kinda strange since i'm squarely placed in part of the target audience.

all of the good content from the store they offer i already own and the stuff they discount i either own or don't want. couldn't give a crap about the majority of demos either (also because i own the full games of the ones i'm interested in) and would only download the wallpapers/avatars because they are free. or i guess you could say because i paid for them already.

so basically if i was ever to get a subscription i'd be buying that just to save 5 bucks on a game i was going to buy anywayz when i could just do it without having paid 70 bucks already on the subscription.....waste of cash.

if they started the service at the beginning of psn i very likely might've gotten it and would probably have been better off in doing so but when you already own everything good there's no point.

so before you say anything hbk stfu, i'm not getting it.
