I agree with you, my point is I believe it will go away with regards to police prosecution.

It definitely won't go away from a club/AFL - player discipline perspective. I think the player involved will be in a lot of trouble with both organisations and a significant penalty (fine, matches suspension & community work) will be handed out. Don't think the player would get sacked however.

Yeah fair enough.

Issue regarding sharing of these images without consent and possible police action is very real though irrespective of how the AFL/club handle it. It's a criminal offence and the courts will impose their own punishment if police deem that charges are appropriate. Much like when a driving offence occurs, courts will issue the punishment with absolutely no regard to what the AFL or club may do.

I fear that because this issue is a bit of a hot potato authorities are unlikely to sweep it under the carpet.

Its quite ironic isn't it.They are part of the reason in creating this monster by prying on peoples private lives but get on their high moral horse when it suits.

Exactly. While Susie oneill has just written an article about this picture and Richmond but her employer, herald Sun, is happy to publish the photo.

The Age chose to not run the photos.

Herald Sun ran with them.

Surprised? Haha..

Is that the same organisation that got a rabidly Hawthorn supporting non-sports reporter to run an anti-WCE article 2 days before a Haw/WCE Grand Final? No, not surprised.

That said, they are many other media outlets who have run the photo.

Why should we be surprised?
Does anybody remember when the Herald Sun's owner, Rupert Murdoch, used to make a fortune out of his busty Page 3 girls, here and in the UK?

Just dropping in guys. Firstly congratulations on winning the flag. Far better team on the day, executed a plan to perfection and we didn't come to play, so hats off. Shame the media are doing their best to ruin your celebrations.
First of all I'm 100% positive the pics are of 2 different women. Secondly in the real world (in which we all live in) any person regardless of whom they are, that let's themselves get photographed like that are an absolute idiot. PC police can call it what they like but they/she are just down right stupid. Obviously the player has done the wrong thing sharing it, but use your brain love seriously!
Food for thought, if the pic was taken by your average bloke and not an AFL player would it even be news?? I think not...
Congrats once again.

Play stupid games, win shit prizes.

Don't give others pornography of yourself if you don't want others to see it. Especially if it's someone you're not even dating. Pretty ******* simple.
Wise words, but doesn't change the fact that it's never right to share nudes of someone without the person's consent. Is illegal and should be.

I think a lot of people in here are misunderstanding what some of us are trying to say. I don't think anybody will condone of making public of such a photo, it's a private photo, and nobody else has to see it, but lets be honest here, it is a torso shot, and you see only 3 things, a set of boobs and a premiership medal draped over the neck, you see nothing above the shoulders and nothing below, there is literally no chance that 99% of people in the public would be able to identify who this person is by just seeing her breasts, so why the need to go to the police and make this something into an issue much larger then it needed to be? Ok great the country has now seen your breasts, but nobody will ever know who's they are, why couldn't she have made this an issue to be resolved by herself and the player at hand? Why the need to go to police?

The cynic in me says, this is all a cash grab, young footballer who's just won a premiership, obviously has a few $ to his name, make it a bigger issue then it really is, nobody in there right mind would ever want another person to possibly go to jail or even have a criminal record for such a petty crime with no malice involved in it, and once you work your way down as to the motives this person could possibly have, it all comes back to the one thing.

tugga has stated he's seen the full photo.

I also have only seen the torso photo but apparently the original photo going around includes her face.

Why? Possibly because she obviously knows it's her and doesn't feel comfortable that it was shared after she asked for it to be deleted, whether or not this is a "cash grab" still doesn't negate the fact the player was stupid enough to share the image.
