How is this naïve?

Assumptions were made yes but not naïve?

If you think this will just go away with a payment to the woman then yes it's a very naive view. We have a female president. The club is up to their teeth in creating better links with female fans and the new VFL side and soon to be an AFLW side is a perfect example. The story is out and there is already media saturation. It won't be going away any time soon and most likely will be dragged up whenever someone decides to write a story on respect and responsibility in the AFL in the future.

Actually, when I go to the beach I give no one my consent for them to be topless in my presence unless I say so!!!!

Like it or not!!!

If you cannot see your hypocrisy I find that far more troubling.

Likewise if u cannot see the difference between sharing anything without consent and unauthorised CCTV in public places again I fret at the hypocrisy
I don't think it is the people who viewed the picture that are complaining about it, so your analogy about what people see at the beach seems to lack a bit of logic.

CEO also has 6 feminist sisters. There ain't no pay offs, it isn't the 70's 80's 90's, or even 00's.

I agree with you, my point is I believe it will go away with regards to police prosecution.

It definitely won't go away from a club/AFL - player discipline perspective. I think the player involved will be in a lot of trouble with both organisations and a significant penalty (fine, matches suspension & community work) will be handed out. Don't think the player would get sacked however.

I was going to add that it isn't the 80's but I suspect it still happens. Not to the same degree but I bet payments are still made for silence.

Can't believe we're stil arguing over the legalities. If he's shared without consent then it's wrong and he should be punished accordingly. That's what it comes down to.
Actually it'll get alot more complicated than that.
Did she consent to the photo and did she prompt/ instigate the photo ?
Did she ask that the player delete photo after he had distributed them ?
To be unlawful do the photos have to be nudes ?
What constitutes a nude photo, does the same apply for men as it does women?
If she is in fact a stripper and openly has her breasts for the viewing public , does a picture of her breasts constitute nudes ?

Photos are taken of celebs and distributed often without their consent and in some cases with a bit of nipple slip , camel toe etc.
Can you imagine if roaming Brian segment was deemed illegal because some player objected to the camera catching him with his shirt off or arse showing ?

Can't imagine there being anything come from the police investigation as it will open a can of worms.

and add to the fact that the alleged player has not had a chance to tell his side of the story.

The law states Verbal consent or Implied Consent to forward a picture of sexual nature.

Implied consent is the key word as 2 people under the influence of alcohol most likely, he could very well argue that she implied he could show mates, but asked for it to be deleted upon sobering up.

There are a myriad of circumstances.

It will all come out in the wash, but i would be surprised if he was punished to the full extent of the law, club punishment would certainly be on the cards to keep up appearances if charges are dropped.

I hope the idiots who every year look to put an asterix next to every Premiership not involving their team don't try to use this to associate with the 2017 one. Those people do s&!t me.

Yet you dare try and put an asterisk next to their premiership years they don't take it well. Every premiership is worthy, no matter how weak or strong a year is or what style of football the premiership team play. Fact of the matter is that each year only one team was good enough to win a premiership, which is not an easy thing to do, and should be celebrated as such.

Media outlets appalled at player sharing photo as they share the photo nationally.
Its quite ironic isn't it.They are part of the reason in creating this monster by prying on peoples private lives but get on their high moral horse when it suits.

If they hadn't shown it I would not have known about the situation. And they could have reported the issue without an accompanying photo (with or without the black bar).

The Age chose to not run the photos.

Herald Sun ran with them.

Surprised? Haha..

I won't be sharing the details of the instagram account guys with anyone else. If they want to pass it on, they can. I will not.
Yeah don’t share the name. However I’m 95% confident I know it so wouldn’t mind a simple yes or no if it’s the same person as the name I have.
