A feasible sequence of events is , that the woman consented to the photo , the player sent the photo to his mates , prior to spending the remainder of the night with the woman, all of which the woman consented to whilst pissed.
The woman left in the morning with the medal without consent of the player and when she become aware that photos had been sent , agreed to give back the medal and asked that the player didn't distribute the photo anymore / delete it , due to consequences it could have in her own life.
Which the player agreed and rightfully deleted the photo.

No head shot is going to make it hard to have charges laid IMO, unless she goes topless against the photo it could be anyone claiming it's them because all the player has to say is " thats not her "

Also who is to say she didnt ask for a picture be taken on her phone and she released it, lets wait until both stories are told before we automatically go into the woman is innocent mode, remember chopstickgate
The original photo according to people on here had the face attached and it was later changed. Not sure if true, but a few posters should be able to clarify this.

Only if they confirm the identity of the person in the photo or were the person who took the photo.
Nope if you've shared the image after it was originally posted you can cop it.

The offences apply to the distribution of images of anyone under 18 years of age, and the distribution of images of adults without consent.

The new offence for distribution carries a penalty of up to two years in prison and the new offence of threatening to distribute carries a penalty of up to one year in prison.

So if anyone has shared the image without her consent they can be charged.

...... feasable but also dumb.

They would have hooked up, he took a pic she said delete it he lied and said he did then they had some times and she left only to discover the photo in twitter.

Why the **** would she take the medal....

Possible but unlikely.

The most likely thing that occurred is they were having fun, she agreed for him to take a photo of her wearing the medal, he either that night or the next day sent the photo to his friends without telling her and in the process broke the law. Anyone arguing anything else is, frankly, kidding themselves.

Would people be responding this way if the player was from another club?

WTF would a player who has received multiple education sessions on things such as distributing unconsented sexual material distribute it ?
It is easy to believe the story projected by the media.

Think you'll find he has only broken the law if the photo was taken on the understanding that it wouldn't be distributed or that he has distributed it after advising it had been removed.

Must be a slow news day/week for the media to jump on this.

I guess this will be used as an example for people of what you can't do with social media.

The act itself is just a mistake and the player (if they shared the pic without consent) should see them apologise and maybe miss a couple of pre-season games.

Footballers are young and everybody makes mistakes when they are young.

If the victim has hired a lawyer they might be chasing something other than an apology.

All this would have been avoided if the player had just done this:

Could well have flicked it on to a mate or two saying "Check out what i got up to last night...keep this to yourself" naively expecting nothing further would happen to it.

Yep,very easy for a person to send the photo themselves while the phone owner is in the toilet.

We don't even know if it was one if our players who took the photo and sent it. Could have been a players mate who had the medal at the time and was with his 'partner'.

Also if it was my Daughter i'd be more ashamed of her than anything. I would have told her when she was growing up not to do stupid shit that you'll regret.
This is stupid shit you'll regret.
Both parties at fault here.

It just doesn't work that way in the non-football world. Why should it in this case just because he's a footballer. There's blokes out there who can't get jobs because their names are on the sex offenders register for doing exactly the same thing when they actually were kids. This bloke is legally an adult. Being a footballer doesn't excuse you from the law

Nope, only 1 party at fault. It's not illegal to have naked photos taken of yourself. It is illegal to transmit them without permission.
