I saw something similar at Tea Tree Plaza today.

My wife and I when we sit at restaurants often sit there and just people watch and chat. We stay off our phones, quality time. But we often see at other tables, whole families sitting in silence, both parents on their phones, and the kids just sitting their bored. Or Everyone is perusing their phone in dead silence. Its really weird and sad.

Thank goodness there is footage to clear this bloke, here is some of the crap this women said:

"A group of men approached her" - footage clearly shows her and her friend walking along the footpath and the men walking the other way, why can't you say the woman approached the men or more accurately the two groups were walking past each other.

"One of the men began waving a scarf in her face before she attempted to push him away when he punched her". Wow this is a doozy, yes the guy was waving his scarf but he did not stop walking past her. She did the exact opposite of pushing him away, she grabbed him then hit HIM in the face.

So she assaulted the guy twice (surprisingly nothing in the article about that) he THEN hit her back once.

What great journalism "Any person should be able to go out on a Saturday and enjoy your time, especially being a female in the company of her friends." Ummm, the female assaulted the guy twice before he defended himself.

She has obviously hit guys before how quick she was to go hands on when the "threat" was walking away from her.

This might be the wake up call she needs, she is the one that should be charged with assault.

He was a dickhead for waving the Scarfe in her face. She was wrong punching him in retaliation , but I probably would have reacted in a similar position but for a big bloke like him to break her jaw is very disturbing. He didn't have to react like that.

that's a pretty weird summary - there is nothing in that footage that would clear that bloke for clocking her like that

he instigated the interaction, and yeh she could have handled it better, but for him to react like that is pretty ****ed
