I think people are wilfully misrepresenting the ‘defund the police’ movement or are simply ignorant of its aims. Outside a tiny minority, it doesn’t mean getting rid of police completely, it means redirecting the massive amounts of funding they get into other community safety projects. Some police have seen their funding go up year on year by massive amounts despite a trend in declining crime, some police forces have ******* tanks and rocket launchers. That was never the intent of a local police force.

The Black Lives Matter UK Gofundme page literally states that it does mean exactly that:

“How we’ll spend the funds! ...​

- Developing and delivering training, police monitoring and strategies for the abolition of police“.​

It also states that its aim is to dismantle capitalism. If you share those values then by all means support the BLM Movement but make sure you do actually understand and support its far left agenda before you kneel down and show your support for it.

Look, there are many forces at play here and it's not all as clear cut as it may be seen to be.
Of course we should investigate every injustice, but we just have to do it the right way and triggered and forced-upon emotion isn't the right trigger.
In fact it will only add more division and less unity.
