So if it comes down to a choice between Scharenberg and Aish, and we can only pick one of them, then who do we choose?

Thankfully we don't, Derek does (Oooh, that could be a good fillum, Derek Does the Draft).

For me Sharon Burg (like the height)fits more what we need just slightly ahead of Aish, who also has what we need in a different area. Really whoever Derek reckons is better, is who I like more.:D

Only two more sleeps.:rainbow:

According to Paige these clubs have told the players (bolded) they have committed to them.. the unknown basically starts with us

1. GWS: Boyd
2. GWS: Kelly
3. St K: Billings
4. WB: Bontempelli
5. GC: Kolodjashnij
6. COLL: Scharenberg
7. BRIS: McCarthy but maybe Scharenberg if we go Aish at 6
8. NM: McDonald
9. MELB: Freeman or Salem
10. COLL: Aish

Scharenberg would be too good to pass up first.

I mean, you could guarantee he would not get to pick 10, whereas Aish by all the speculation may.

It would be far too risky to roll the dice on the 'Berg.

I'm thinking we will choose either Bontempelli or McCarthy at 10 and either Aish or Sharenberg will be available at 6. If we take Aish/Sharenberg at 6 and the other is still available at 10 I guess we better take both. The idea of taking McCarthy is growing on me though so I'd be more than happy to pick him up at 10 and I sort of hope it pans out that we take Aish at 6 and McCarthy at 10. Having said that, if we nabbed Aish at 6 and Sharenberg at 10 I'd be over the moon. I really hope we get at least one of Aish and Sharenberg though, I've let myself believe too much for it to be taken away from me now.

Aish is higher on Dekka index I've heard. Would love either though.

Yes but twice he's rolled the dice & won. Sidey/Beams & Thomas/Pendlebury.

Roll 'em again Dekka.

On a whole forget the "noise" Brisbane are making.

They will be very, very nervous about drafting more interstate talent, particularly with how it played out this year and if there is any "hint" of a go-home factor on the horizon in the short term.

I would prefer Aish over Berg every day of the week BUT our best chance to get both appears to be Berg at 6. Brisbane won't take Aish due to homesick rumours and that they appear to prefer taller players, over 187.

However I also believe the club prefers Aish.

Scharenberg, Aish will get past Brisbane and Melbournes picks more likely with his lack of contested ball winning. Melbourne and Brissy will pounce on the opportunity to get The berg.

No chance of us letting Aish slip through. We will go for the best player available at 7, as we have plenty of picks (6 in the first 2 rounds), we will be able to address our needs (KPP, inside mid) during the 2nd round of the draft.

Evidently Brisbane has been making little noises about Aish to fake us into taking him because Scharenberg is the only player they'd give up McCarthy for

Brisbane have not mentioned anything whatsoever about Mccarthy, nor anyone else. All this Mccarthy talk started when Twomey floated the idea around. Very unlikely we'll take him though IMO

You know you are going McCarthy.. I heard he bought a surfboard off Daisy o_O

I doubt that will play a part in our first pick. There's bugger all Queenslanders in the draft, let alone quality ones

Kerr has said Brisbane will be picking on a needs basis, I think you will go McCarthy at 7 and then mids in the 2nd round. You make it sound like selecting McCarthy is the end of the world, but in reality he would be by far your best future key forward.

Just everything I have heard from various media outlets and supposed draft experts.

The club could be bluffing as well.
Fair enough. It all makes interesting reading, but to be honest I can't wait till Thursday and the job gets done. So many differing opinions and "mail" that they can't all be right.

Yes, we will pick on a needs basis, during the 2nd round of the draft where we have 5 picks. pick 7 we will go for the best player available, like in recent years (Mayes last year for example, we didn't need a HFF like him, but we got him because he was too good to pass on at 7)

Can defiantly see Brissy skipping Aish, apparently they have been interviewing Dom Sheed? Pretty sure it was him anyway
