Given Channel 9 did an unbiased interview with SPP, it would be great if Port stuck it up $even & signed a sponsorship with Nine, but the AFL would probably block it

I love a good Port bashing at much as the next bloke, but cant help but feel as though they have copped a raw deal here.
I think Koch is on the money with the AFL attempting to be seen as making amends somewhat for last year's internal scandals. Some good PR for the "AFL Integrity" team, two words that shouldn't be used in the same sentence
A three week ban is over the top. Then as a compromise they have no objection to SPP playing in the SANFL yesterday. Puzzling.
C7's input into this has been a disgrace also.
The Crows' supporters getting aroused over this need to find something else to keep themselves amused. All clubs have their issues, AFC certainly no exception. But living in Adelaide this club v club pettiness is all too common.

I’m sure a few people on this forum know my thoughts on the AFL.
They have permeated all areas of the media who they have some influence over and basically are controlling the messages coming out of the media.
As an example, just look how how EVERY commentator describes poor umpiring decisions.
They either immediately jump to their defence by saying that the umpire thought they saw what they saw, or they stay dead silent. At best you might get one of two complaints from a commentator but it’s always tempered.
This happened at about the time the last media contract with 7 was signed when they took the rights back from 10/9.
What’s also interesting is how the paper media report on incidents. There’s always a bias towards what the AFL are saying, rather than any other angle.
I would 100% believe a person like Kochie saying the AFL didn’t want to view a video because it didn’t suit them.

I wouldn't trust a word from AFL House. I said a week ago the announcement would be ANZAC day in an attempt to keep it low key, sure enough they follow through.

Righto. How do you view the bashing of Tex Walker and the Crows in the media since the GF? What about weeks of coverage over the Crows pre-season camp that seems to have stemmed from Eddie Betts and his partner getting upset because he didn’t have access to a phone for? Hours? A day? Who knows. But this story and anti-Crows stories and anti-Tez stories are constantly pumped out by Rucci and Cornes as all the usual flogs in Melbourne and it’s supposedly all good.
SPP gets maggoted and gropes a girl and suddenly it’s poor old Port and the biased AFL and the biased media.
Seriously the shit I read on this board takes hypocrisy to a whole new level.

Where the Commission is of the opinion that a person (or club) has contravened the provisions of the Memorandum or Articles of Association or the AFL Regulations or the AFL Player Rules or has been involved in conduct which is unbecoming or likely to prejudice the interests or reputation of the AFL or to bring the game of football into disrepute, the Commission may deal with any such matter in such manner as the Commission in their absolute discretion think fit and without limiting their power they may:
(a) refer any matter to the Tribunal or other body or person appointed by the
Commission:
(b) appoint any person to inquire into any matter;
(c) conduct their own disciplinary inquiry into any matter; and/or
(d) impose a monetary sanction as provided in these Regulations/Player Rules
Where was I hypocritical? I just said that C7s conduct by leveling accusations and hunting down witnesses via facebook messages etc was very ordinary.
I didn't comment on any of those Crows related issues, so how would you know my thoughts on the media's treatment of them? The media's coverage of the game has gotten completely out of control. (although I did have a laugh at the poor ol' Tex comment..he'll survive)
The problem with Adelaide is that everything gets turned into a Port v Crows sh*tfest. It's pretty boring.

Here goes. Your player groped a girl and instead of just apologising and moving on quickly Port have dragged this out and done some serious grandstanding while essentially calling this woman a liar and trying to pretend that CCTV footage in a dark nightclub with a crowded dance floor shows him not touching her.
Then there’s SPP admitting he was too ploughed to recall and yet somehow does know he didn’t grope her but KT admits there was inappropriate touching but won’t define what inappropriate touching is but he’s seen the footage and it shows nothing but he can’t provide the footage to clear SPP and Port are accepting a 3 week ban anyway...hmmmm
And the media is supposedly controlled by the Crows (who apparently are to blame for everything bad that happens to Port) despite the fact that the two biggest voices in SA media are Rucci and Kane Cornes who troll the Crows everyday (but the media hates Port and loves the Crows!).
And these same trolls have said NOTHING bad about Port and have remained virtually silent on this issue which wouldn’t have been the case had it been a Crows player.
And it’s always a conspiracy against Port (classic victim mentality) when it should’ve just been an apology on day 1 and people would’ve forgiven him for being young and drunk and having a night of poor judgement.
Instead we get the Port crisis management playbook where they point the finger at everyone except themselves. Pretty dumb at anytime but especially dumb when you’ve been struggling to find a major sponsor for a year.
And to top it off Port do a train wreck of a press conference where KT contradicts what Kochie has said and his lame story designed to make Port and SPP look like the innocent victims can’t even stand up to basic scrutiny by Mike Smithson. And to really add lol’s the Port PR team need to be sacked for holding a press conference about alleged sexual assault with their sponsors displayed for all to see. That’s a PR 101 fail.
Then your windbag buffoon of a President Kochie rips his own employer and tries to use them to make Port look like the victim. Very smart.
