Scandal Port Adelaide Player SPP Charged With Inappropriate Contact

I will have to dig into it (the dusty threads were massive), and im at work right now. As mentioned it proved me wrong, so its not like i have an incentive to lie.
I'm not saying you are lying, but I am questioning the way you have presented the facts that she made it all up and was interested in running a story to make money.

I am curious to read that full story, because if you have written the account correctly, it shows a pattern by ch 7 female news department employees.

If the AFL, as some here suggest, is trying to protect itself, wouldn't it be more convenient for them to just say " We have looked at the evidence and find that the player did act inappropriately. We believe that the penalty that the player has already been subjected to (i.e. 2 Week ban) is appropriate. No further action will be taken".

The AFL had to make sure that everyone knows that the AFL chose the punishment. So if Port had given him 3 weeks, the AFL would have made it 4 weeks.

Why do both cases revolve around females working for Ch 7?

Wait. She works for Channel 7 ???

FMD - read it in context. Dusty case, female involved in chopsticks incident was a 7 employee who allegedly wanted him to tell his story of the incident on 7. SPP case, 7 employee convinces girl to tell her story on 7 and doesnt go to cops but 7 employee reports it as sexual assault.

SPP shouldn't have received anything. He didn't break the law. Stupid if he is going to let the AFL tell him how to behave in his own time.
He's 20 years old not 50. He wants to play footy. He is going to do what he is told - unfortunately.

If it was a true sexual assault, I'm pretty sure under various state laws and given all the laws that the AFL refer to in their respect and responsibility document, they would have to report it to the police.

I would just like to see him stand up for himself is all. I understand why he won't, but as a fan, and seeing what the AFL is doing to these players - I would love one of them to stand up to the AFL. It is unfair how the AFL treats its commodities, and that is all they are to the AFL.

So would I, but it is going to take the clubs and their presidents and CEOs to take back power from the AFL. I would also like the AFLPA to stand up for its players but all its good for is getting money out of the AFL. Could you imagine BHP or others paying the CFMEU or whatever it has merged into, several million dollars every year to pay for its administration.?? That's what happens between the AFLPA and AFL.

This was Koch's statement about it today to Tom Browne on MMM. But listen to Eddie from 3.00 and what he says about the club's being pissed off with the AFL being control freaks. This might be the start of the club's asserting themselves and taking back power.

The one week makes sense. He broke a team rule and received a team punishment. The second week was because he felt he wasnt ready to play because of all the drama and figured 1 more week out.

The 3rd week is the AFL making it look like they act tough on people who do "inappropriate" things with women.

If Port have found nothing wrong in there investigating, why the **** has the AFL had there say in something that really has nothing to do with them!

Like Koch said, this is them trying to save face after their staff were screwing married women and now they are trying to use spp to seem tough on something after they ****ed up.

He wouldn’t be tossed out of the club and you know it. Your club culture is disgraceful with both your supporters and players.

Do we need to remind you of the number of incidents in the past 2 years involving both players and members?

PS: don’t put yourself in this position at 3am absolutely pissed - SPP is NOT the victim here, he is the perpetrator of this whole sorry affair.

The nightclub. Not the football club.

A Victoria Police statement said: "Detectives from Stonnington Criminal Investigation Unit have conducted an extensive investigation after reports a woman was threatened by a man at a Chapel Street restaurant in Windsor on 5 December.

"After reviewing CCTV footage and speaking to all parties involved, including numerous independent witnesses at the restaurant on the night, investigators determined that no criminal offence took place."

"Police take all reports of violence towards women seriously and investigate all complaints thoroughly."
The Dustin Martin slandering was a disgrace and Koch should also be ashamed for his part. Players really need to start standing up to this stuff more aggressively. You could go as far as saying Martin was proven innocent by the investigation.

Legal action against 7 Adelaide and Elspef Hussey is a certain possibility with the language coming from the club recently.

I am not sure they will have a leg to stand on. There is nothing wrong with reporting an incident and the people involved before charges have been laid.

The person making the allegations however, well I would be seeking legal advice if I believed I did nothing wrong!

Hey kirky I will assume you have evidence that proves he is the the 'perpetrator', I'm thinking you should pass that on to the Police and maybe even The PAFC.

If not, STFU!!!

Perpetrator of 'conduct unbecoming of an AFL player', LOL. I wonder how long it taken the floggo's at the AFL to come up with that tricky set of wording. What a joke this whole saga has become. The AFL once again look like idiots. It might be time Gil stood down.

Time a lot of Crows supporters stood down. Agree, Gill is a dead set narcissist, comes from a long line of them.

You were also supporting a witness who later was found to.have made.up the story to generate media buzz

I wantee martin suspended because i took her word as gospel, as i thought it would be insane for a tv news producer to fake a story. As my board loves to remind me, i was massively wrong

Dont let that stop you pushing the line however that the fiction did happen
Closet essendon supporter:p:D

Just saw some vision on AFL360.
SPP touches and holds a ladies hand then lets go and moves away. Hes intoxicated, which you can tell by his movements. Impossible to draw much from that vision without context, but visually there doesnt look to be much in the clip shown. Again, no idea what was said, or what occured before and after the vision.

Good on Kochie. At least clubs are considering the fact that they need to protect their players (from the the AFL). The AFL is an organisation that is protecting its brand, and it will do so at all costs - even at the cost of player welfare. I suspect the AFL will do so even if it wouldn't hold up in a court of law. We will see, but I am looking forward to this. On face value, and with limited information, other than the fact that the incident didn't warrant SPP to be charged, it would be reasonable to assume the AFL don't have a lot going for them.
Has kochi got the balls to take them on, clean out the shit running the game
