Port Adelaide's plan to use jumpers similar to Collingwood

The lesson here is that where parties conduct themselves with honour and integrity, amicable solutions are possible even in difficult circumstances.
The lesson here is that Port continue to drop the ball when entering into agreements relating to their jumper.

Seems like Port came to a win-win solution pretty easily.

Maybe its not Port that's the problem?

😂 Ok. Looks like Port gave a huge nice fat percentage to the original artist because she was pissed one minute and happy the next. Avoided a nice lawsuit and having to throw those guernsey's in the bin along with the prison bars.

Port should be allowed to wear their prison bars jumper. But, the handling of the indigenous jumper has been a fiasco.

The whole thing reached an amicle outcome in less than 24 hours. Everybody was happy. Not really sure how it could be dubbed a Fiasco? After the initial unintended ****up, everybody got together to reach a consensus. Fiasco is the incorrect word for this situation.

I do like Ports indigenous jumper, i've said this before but our clubs have a very nice marketing opportunity here, wise heads need to get with it.

Don't forget these blokes having to change their colours against Collingwood, in a home game:

that wasn't the kit we had to wear for a home game, it was this one

this photo is from a different game, but i can't find any good photos of the Collingwood game (round 16, we played them twice that year)

Collingwood. Against Geelong, Carlton, St Kilda, Richmond and Essendon. Constantly.
You miss the importance of the word 'agreement'.

It is AFL incompetence that often creates clashes, Collingwood have two distinct strip's

The white with black stripes, which is perfect when playing against predominantly dark teams. How can anybody think there is a clash in the below?? It is the perfect away strip.

And then we have our home kit
Black with white. No clash with Geelong.

When did North where that strip against Collingwood?

All the more reason for the AFL to correctly tell Port to GAGF, we already have a team that plays in black n white stripes.

Stick to the Port Power chevrons.

I'd have thought quite the opposite.

Shit situation trying to do something fun for a school comp, they weren't going to monitor every bit of Indigenous artwork ever.

Reached an agreement, in whichever way, yes probably with monetary incentives to the original artist (and deservedly so) to 1) wear the jumper 2) recognise the OG artist and 3) protect a child from being hounded on social media.

Where's the fiasco?

Never knew that. Why did North acqiesce to such nonsense?

There is a generally accepted principle that you don’t ‘punch down’.

North Melbourne are clearly adults and understand how fragile the Collingwood leadership and supporter base is. In order to protect the unstable Collingwood base, North were the adults in the room.

It’s pretty common that Collingwood shout ‘We are in charge’ and shake their wooden sword, and the rest of the league pat them on the head and soothing state ‘sure you are’.

Collingwood didn't have a clash jumper in 2008 (the reverse jumper just made them look more like us). Since wearing white shorts at home was still considered out of the quesion, there was really no other option for the AFL but to ask North to wear the away strip at home

that's ****ing ridiculous! so instead of wearing white shorts at home and still look like North Melbourne, the club itself took the initiative of wearing that powder blue monstrosity?

what is it about AFL clubs and the reluctance to wear white shorts at home? North would have a differentiation from 16 other clubs. North have moved to predominantly royal blue singlet to avoid this now, and IMO it doesn't look good with that colour combo.
