Port Adelaide's plan to use jumpers similar to Collingwood

Yes, that abandoned history at the same club, same oval, with the same names on the wall and the same team playing there continuously for 100 years is sure insecure, and not the only sporting team in the world that believes it has the sole trademark rights to a particular colour and design principle to protect it's brand, after they left the ovals and left the rooms of yesteryear.

It’s staggering how little you know about your clubs creation.

why is it so hard to accept that your then president agreed to remove any objection to PAFC wearing the prison bars if we finished above Collingwood for 3 consecutive years ? (Which by the way we did after 3 years)

In competitions like the EPL clubs have practically identical home strips, which is why clash jumpers exist. The prison bar jumper is a different design to the Collingwood jumper, its not like we are wanting to wear the same guernsey.

Are you suggesting the Collingwood brand is so weak that a club based out of a different state also wearing black and white would be detrimental to your club ?
This isn't the EPL with 100 teams running up and down leagues on a regular due to relegation. The simple fact is this is how it has worked across Australian footy for over 100 years. North Melbourne changed jumpers and colours to enter the VFL. Hawthorn changed colours and jumpers to enter the VFA as did other teams over the years. Local leagues require clubs to change colours and jumpers if they clash with current members when joining.

This isn't some rule that was made up by the AFL to stick it to Port. You want tradition, this is tradition.

Clearly Collingwood would implode and go into immediate insolvency should we wear our true jumper, such is the nature of the club that has been built on the hot air of recent management. They are a balloon ready to pop, one sharp scratch and it would be over. They have no assets, only liabilities, no members, only bandwagoners that would walk away the second any other club wore a similar jumper to theirs.

One mention of a prison bar jumper and it is over.
Such is the Collingwood Football Club.
The great Wizard of Oz, that behind the screen of bellicose froth is a small child huddled shivering in the corner.

We must protect the weak, continue the facade, let those beer-sodden fools in the garden state continue to maintain their charade.

Such is the strength of The Collingwood Football Club.

How dare we be the pricks that pop the balloon of exaggerated mediocrity.

Collingwood will always be our pompous jealous cousins, and will forever be known as being so fragile that they must retain this internationally unique state of play with their pathetic excuses and drivel just to survive.

We know who the real champions are.
They wear the Prison Bars, not your shitty stripes.

I accept the current agreement and policy in place, why can't pro Collingwood people accept the absolutely elite display of insecurity and weakness of their brand they have about it though?

Are Port still going on about this? I would have thought the club would be more interested in addressing their team's Preliminary Final on-field performance.

Collingwood should just let them wear it and the whining will stop. I mean, Richmond wears the WA state guernsey in away matches.

Compromise and move the **** on, use the prison bar template just use Black Teal white and silver. Those are your assigned AFL colours. Port are Never going to be able to use "Black and white stripes" it's a waste of time and effort whinging to the AFL community about it constantly, you signed your traditional strip away as soon as you entered the AFL.

I get that it sucks for Port fans and you want to wear it as many time as you can but legally you can't, so embrace what you already have or try a new design with a callback to your history.
