I always thought it would be a smart move of GC to offer up a home game to Port over there. Of course the Chinese will support them over Port. Sometimes we overlook the most obvious things when too eager to get things done. Tough luck Kochie.

There's no clash between the two clubs home jumpers so there is no need to wear an alternate strip.
Here's A Port Adelaide home game with Gold Coast wearing their home jumper
So Koch really doesn't have a valid argument.
Have GCS considered a Garry Hocking-like temporary name change for GAblett for this game? Maybe something like, let's say Confucius, or Mao Zedong? Tie it in with their club colours, maybe a friendly Mandarin Chinese phrase on the banner, even if they only get a few hundred thousand members out of it, and generate a few million extra tourist visits to Qld, Kochie's head will explode...
And Port with black and white colours and a 10-year deal - they'd struggle to get support even if Taiwan was the opposition!
Pity who ever was involved in the initial planning for this...
Um at what point did wearing our team colours become pretending to be chinese? Do you honestly think that they will watch the game and think oh those racist bastards!wearing their national colours pretending to be Chinese.....
What a mastermind he is, making himself and the club look like absolute fools while possibly getting an extra thousand or so people max watching the game from the comfort of their lounge rooms.Lol Kochie is doing a good job of getting people interested in this game. Working like a charm aswell.

Truly a genius...
You clearly have no understanding of our history. We have always thrived on being hated! Why? Because we have always taken chances, our very existence in the AFL as the only non Vic 'Club' is testimony to that, that it is us creating this game is further testimony. This is hilarious!
First I love that the koch is threatening to blackball us. Even if we never play there again at worst we walk away with a few thousand new fans.
Second all this carry on will have more people rooting for Gold Coast during this game because theres nothing that the Australian public love more than watching someone throw their toys and then lose. We love it!
Third we are a young club and we need good old fashioned rivalries and i feel this may be the catalyst for years of Port Adelaide vitriol. Bring it on baby!
yep, hype. Kochy looking like a complete amateur, and it's just hype. He must be so proudYou do know this is all part of the hype? eeping the game in the news over the pre-season.
All this shit was sorted out in the agreement last year.
It's the way of the modern media circus whether we like it or not. It's the way for politics, business and sport in a media saturated world.yep, hype. Kochy looking like a complete amateur, and it's just hype. He must be so proud
This is the Port we've known for many years. They were so used to getting everything their own way in the SANFL and that culture still exists. They want a lucrative sponsorship from an overseas country, but they want another club to forfeit a home game to make it happen. Now they want the HOME side to not wear their home jumper.
Anything else Port? Why not ask China to change their national anthem to your club song?

We are the black sheep of the code and always have been. The Crows are the 'establishment'.
I don't care about the GC guernsey, I don't think you'll find many Port Adelaide fans who do.
However, you say "want" like it's just asking for help. It's a business / financial transaction, just like you'd be annoyed if people said "Hawthorn wanted the Tasmanian government to give them money". They negotiated it.
- Port Adelaide negotiated a lucrative sponsorship from an overseas country / companies.
- Port Adelaide negotiated with another club to forfeit a home game (I actually thought we bought the home game, but it seems not).
- Port Adelaide / Koch anticipated (probably on AFL advice, refer travel promotion below) that the guernsey colour change came with buying home game rights, however it's clear that was not the case. I say let it rest Kochie.
So my reply to meme baiting was taken down, but not the memes?not the bay guys. enough with the memes
