Game Day Port v Collingwood Round 19

There is something to look forward to, our drop off came a lot later this year than last year so for me that is a sign of overall improvement. Keep the faith people, we aren't out of it yet.

For me this year was always about bettering where we finished last year. Did anyone realistically expect to be premiers this year or even Grand Finalist.

A few points from the ground - pittard and ebert were fine. Ken wasnt outcoached. We have no fwd line as we have no midfield. Oshea was fine. We lack composure going forward
Sorry Macca, only saw it from the screen but Ebo and Oshea were bloody ordinary. I'll admit I just don't see anything in OShea at all, may have got 30 touches but what did he do with them??

Only been to three games this year, north, richmond and today's

Stop going to games then! I knew we were done when Macca19 woke up full of the joys of living and optimistic- a sure sign of the apocolypse. Oh F*** it, it's 3am here and I'm going to try and sleep on this... but... our ruck & midfield problem is the source of our troubles. Even Boak was quiet today. Amazed to come as close as we did.

Wingard is the most exciting player in the comp. Get your hand off it Darrell

Wingard thinks he's a big time Charlie who's actually done **** all.

Time for a run in the Magpies along with a handful of others.
Being in the stands side on I can offer that we were good with structure and from the full back line.

But there was nothing up forward.

Ken's idea of slingshot is a joke.

That is what cost us the game.

They were awful, utterly awful, and kept us in it.

2months ago we would have beaten that by 45 points.

Ken is in the head.

Even the Collingwood supporters were being NICE and polite (?!) talking about how ridiculously predictable we were

Spot on.

It's the lack of forward structure that's cost us in most of our loses this year. Even though our skills, tackles and intensity have been down, we've been close enough in all of those games we've lost, to have won if we had a decent forward structure.

Donahue is working full time with North now, we've definitely gone backwards in our tackling this year.

He's not fulltime for them.He is a consultant like with us as he still runs his business. We still use him but less than last year. I think we need him here for one or two days a week for the next 6 weeks or so.

The worst part of the game was the slack tackling, which spells a lack of commitment. I think every port player played below their best and yet we just lost.
As a group - we just haven't got the early season desire - simple as that.[ Can you honestly tell me whenever Ebert , Polac and co were EVER strong tacklers ?, I don't think its slackness or being lazy , they just can't !

No, the midfield look like they lack composure when looking to go forward because 2 out 3 times when we do go forward, we either have no one to kick to at all or we have one forward up against 3 defenders.

The 2013 team is better than this one. Was expecting this year's team to improve, not go backwards.

Not sure about that. Late last year we just got over Gold Coast and Brisbane at home, lucky to beat crows and lost to Blues at home in the last game. I'm as pissed off as anyone but the year ain't over yet!

You could be right there , we don't seem to be responding to challenges put in front of us on game days , no effective plan B so it seems , but also selection , eg.,Monfries's selection has a few of us baffled . On another note , Brads selection in the media as our second best is not the first time his selection in the best players list has a few of us looking at each other speechless when it was announced , has he got rellies in the media ?.
