Hawthorn: Ben Dixon, Richie Vandenberg and Joel Smith.

Barring injuries I believe Crawf will attempt to play on for another couple of seasons .... after all, he is a doctor :D.

Fremantle
Parker 33

West Coast
Chick 30
Pretty good but i disagree on these two. Parker is in career best form and theres nothing to suggest hes slowing down(apart from hes age). And Chick will have to do something pretty major(injury wise) to retire.

What?????????

Both players could probably go on but their teams would both benefit from being able to give their young guys a regular gig. Freo have numerous quality tall defenders and West Coast have guys like Rosa, Morton, LeCras, Hurn and Priddis who could all step in and really shine if a spot became available.

What?????????

Yeah, that Judd guy is past it. Too slow, can't kick. Maybe let him retire and come over to the saints for a year or two.

I live in hope that Ben Matthews hangs up the boots.

Thats right - hope one of our more durable, reliable and consistent players of the past 5 years pulls the pin. Not his best year in 2006 but he had injuries and he was picked as soon as he was fit again so that should tell you something. One of the first picked each week by the coaching panel (who know what they are doing) so don't hold your breath. Let me know if you want Crouch gone as well - he didn't go well this year so I'll load the 303 for him as well.

And there is no way he is a superstar.

Wtf mate, Shannon Grant is a superstar of this game, 255 games, 15 finals appearances, and 293 goals (before 06)

Player honours:
Premiership side 1999
Best and Fairest 2001
Runner-up Best and Fairest 2003, 04, 05
Norm Smith Medal 1999
All-Australian 2005
International Rules Series 2005
AFL Rising Star nominee 1996
Pre-season Premiership side 1998

You forgot A grade tosser.

For a definition of over rated look under Shannon Grant in your AFL guide.

That list of achievements isn't exactly world beating.

Mate i didnt forget an A grade Tosser, i just didnt want to put Nick Davis in because it makes me sick to type, think or say that name. You just have the Sh_!ts becasue the swans didnt keep grant when they had the chance.

If Nigel Lappin has a poor season, he may consider retirement as well as Chris Scott. Thompson from St Kilda is another possible retiree.

James Hird and Robert Harvey will have their names thrown around but I wouldn't be surprised if they play on.

Anthony Rocca

One, he's contracted, and two, said he has unfinished business to attend to before he calls it a day.
(Ie. being a part of the Pies premiership team, or he can pass on what it takes as a player and leader at the highest level to the next generation)

Barring injuries, he will go on for another two or three seasons, I expect he will continue to make a solid contribution to a match regularly.

He's a good team man, is Pebs, he won't leave the club on a sour note by any means. That's what I expect of him.

Yeah, he won't go no where until we win a Premiership...
I think Bucks will play on a couple of years also

your just dirty cause he left Sydney, wish you lot would get over it you did well out of that trade. I certainly wouldnt call him overrated, he was down on his usual form in 2006, that why if he has another poor year he might retire, he certainly isnt getting any quicker,
280 odd games (after 2007)
1 premiership
1 norm smith
1 b/f at the roos
played for his country not many ordinay players have done all this,

Definately Hird-He wrote so in his autobiography
Possibly Fletcher
no onr else important from Essendon

Dont think so, Fletcher will play on for 2 or 3 more seasons.

I think he will continue to struggle and maintain his place in the seniors. I think he will hang em up rather than drop himself back to the seconds like he did last year. As for the coaching panel - clearly the ethos at the club is that the leadership group selects the team and he dropped himself. He's an ordinary player and it's getting past him . He is neither particularly skillful nor a quick thinker. So, I'd like to see someone young and at the start of their career get an opportunity - so shoot me.

Let me know where to point the gun! The guy had an injury prone year - still as durable and solid a player as any on our list. Rarely beaten and that is why we are the team to beat.

As for the Shannon Grant fans - obviously all went to the same S Grant School for Spoilt kiddies. Happy with our trade - Schwass versus Grant - not hard to split that one even for Rooboys! By the way did Shannon win his B&F when no18 was getting a kick like Schwatta!

Still bitter that he left are we ?

No just don't understand how an 18 year old would want to go home to be with your mum who is only an hour away rather than be on the loose in a city like Sydney - childish (and no he didn't leave when he was 18 but never wanted to be there). Funny thing was - he was just like the other sook Rocca who interestingly told fellow Swans not to be hard on him when he left - didn't get a kick on Dunkley after that date due to fear of a punch from behind.

Your the fools who took him in the first place, How stupid are you, (being the swans) the kids puts 60 grand on his head for a sign on fee, because he didnt want to go to Sydney and you still select him. Come on he wanted to home to be close to all his family for personal reasons, there is nothing wrong with that.

Whats so hard to believe about not enjoying livin in Sydney? The kid was 18 away from friends ans family, he forfilled his contract and did bloody well in those two years, Playing seniors for the majority. Just didnt like the place. Swans got a good deal for him all should be happy. As for getting a B/F when Carey was there no he didnt, but he won a norm smith Did Schwass??
