Question with Menzel is: will he request us as his preferred destination
Valid. Horse left it open and he certainly hasn't really indicated us as a preference yet

Just read on the Richmond board that the club described Bennell as the " king of bad boys"... Sounds like he just can't pull his head in..
No detail given?

<snip>There are numerous examples of young stars battling in poor teams, and thriving in good ones (and I know the reverse applies). Look at Polec.

He's a young, lightly built (has improved) outside player in a team that never wins the inside ball, rarely gets it into open space, and has generally had terrible on field structuring and ball movement.

He was incredibly good at SANFL level, as a kid, and if they want a second round, it's a low cost for a potentially huge return.
I understand that he was good at SANFL etc... but there are not that many examples of players picked up early that didn't work out at their first club, but starred at their second.

Funny, when I was looking for stuff on Polec's time at Brisbane (I couldn't remember his playing history there - and I didn't think he failed to perform there) I found this regarding the trade of Polec to either AFC or Power - regarding pushing someone to the PSD:

Adelaide has a pick before Port Adelaide in the Pre-Season Draft, but Noble said a trade was the preferred option for all parties involved.

“I understand we’ve got a lot of fans who would say, ‘push him through the pre-season draft. Get him that way and get him for nothing’,” Noble said.

“You’ve got to remember, we’re going to be dealing with these 17 football clubs for a very long time and they’ve all got good memories. I understand the tactic is there, but we’ve never had that discussion."
I wish some Geelong / AFC fans would understand that !!

Seriously some of you need to come down. One mention of a big fish and its meltdown. Even if we are talking to one there is a big difference to landing one.

In the history of our club we have landed one big fish and his name was D Jarman. Chances of us landing one that's not even been mentioned is remote.

We are going to get 2-3 players and none of them will be guns.
Although I agree with most of this, if we're loosing Danger, we will be in the most advantageous position we've been in for a long time to land a big name.

So this person isn't Jay Clark then? Didn't West Coast even come out and say they weren't going after Redden?

You caught me. It was actually Jay Clark in a West Coast Polo.

I appreciate you questioning my character however BACCS.

Carey doesn't classify as a 'big fish'? ;)

some talk we are after lycett

Also linked to Jamar earlier on, some saying why when our ruck stocks are full but have heard Lowden has really struggled to settle into Adelaide, could already be looking to go back to Victoria.

Good Thevenard boy Lycett, expect Eagles to offer him up to get Redden with Luenberger leaving

What's the general consensus on Curtly Hampton?

That he will look good in Crows colours.

Remember trade radio starts tomorrow at 9am EST. The bad news is you have to listen to Barrett.

Paul Conners is on at 9am and Hutchy is going to break something apparently. Probably just the buttons off his shirt when he sits down.

Watts could be on the move, to the surprise of many he's actually a free agent end of 2016, hard to believe he's been around that long. Last chance for Melbourne to get anything for him, because I really can't see him turning down a move to anywhere else, even for low money.

Menzel will this week tell Carlton he wants to be traded!

Have no inside access to info on Seedsman, Hampton, or Talia. Sorry.

I have been told I can drop the new "big" name sometime this week. Just waiting on confirmation that I can do so.

The big name is Luke Parker isn't it? Same management as Jeremy Cameron, explains the CEY to Sydney talk..

Collingwood got a first rounder for him, and now Melbourne might get pick 50 for him :drunk:
Is he contracted? If he is I'd say Melbourne would be happy for someone to just take him off their books. No different to how we would be happy to lose Mackay for nothing.
