Seriously is anyone under any other impression that Cox is only playing because he's born in America?

Seriously can we please **** him off. There's blokes that play in my clubs reserves side that would offer more!
Rubbish. He was good today and still learning. He will only get better if he plays. He took a great pack mark, he was good at ground level and in the ruck. He should have finished the game with 2 goals had he not mistaken the point post for the goal post-something a Bronwlow medallist named Malcolm Blight has done. His little tap ons and the spillage he causes in contests makes him valuable even when not taking marks. When he starts clunking a few he will be an asset.

Buckley made a number of in game changes which was good to see.

Pendles also was very much leading on the field, even dropping back himself until someone came to cover then moved back up. He not only worked hard himself but was very directional with players. Real leadership.

Thought that those already mentioned were very good as was Crisp.

Only downside was that I thought Moore would kick first goal, kicked the second, we would win by 24 and were 23 before Wells kicked the last goal.
Damn, need a new crystal ball.

So many positives, not going to concern my self with negatives tonight, just enjoy the win.

I would like to know your thoughts Maggie5 because I respect your opinion and I couldn't go today.

I thought Grundy was massive in the second half......what did you think?

Such a defeatist (Melbourne/St.Kilda) attitude...........lets hope our Club doesn't feel the same........I would rather finish 9th.

Yeah........ Because Hawthorn's 4 premierships wasn't built on getting high draft picks at all

There's nothing defeatist about admitting you need some high end draft picks to win flags, it's just common sense.

You two clearly don't watch the games closely. Outside a reasonable first quarter, Smith was not good. At all.

Actually, his off the ball stuff today was deplorable.
Please don't write such silly nonsense simply out of spite-it is unbecoming.

CFC, I tend to go to matches and watch specific players, like today I watched Smith and Crisp.
From the stats looked like he had a good day and some of the things I did see were very good. He was definitely very effective in the second half.
Would have to watch the replay to give you a more in depth response.
Why weren't you there?

Well he still not close to being Safe
Seriously Dave, enough of that. Nothing to do with him, it was about the kids and I thought one of them hugging him was cute.
Don't bother responding if all you have is negative.

Good luck with that mate comparing Melbourne FC and St.Kilda to Hawthorn.

Anyone wishing to lose to get an advantage in this competition is weak IMO.

Hopefully we lose to the Blues next week for all you pathetic supporters!

Oh, there's nothing like a win to put a smile on your dial, and a spring in your step.:D
What a wonderful afternoon of footy, and a thrill to leap out of the seat every time the ball went through the middle:p

So good to see the guys enjoy that winning feeling today!

Nerves were more settled and the team less panicked.
Grundy was brilliant, as was Pendlebury, Wells and many more, and Moore looked the most confident he has all year, holding his marks and kicking goals.
Not sure what happened to Varcoe but he was brilliant in the first half
It felt like a team effort today.
Feeling happy:hearts:

Wells and Dunn made a Difference
Wells is elite.

Dunn just looks like he belongs, he has this presence called respect of his team mates. Looks that way anyway.

Did you see that pass of Wells to .Moore near the end.

He sizes up situation and executes this clever shorter pass, poetry.

Sorry folks I have this thing for Wells.

(Help us all when I wet mupyself when the Berger boy starts being classy)

And every goal kicker we picked in the competition saluted.

Great, means bags of goals

More local football commitments Maggie5.

My boy Crisp has turned the corner after the first three weeks.

I thought he was BOG in the second quarter when we took advantage.

A four quarter performance today by a coach and a team under the pump........character building!

Going down then up is better than being stuck in the middle like so many teams. We're in the premiership business, sometimes you need to think long term to achieve that.

De Goey and Reid in next week. Tough to be a selector.

Out: Varcoe, Cox
In: De Goey, Reid

Recko we will miss Varcoe's speed against the blues. It's deceptive but last year they beat us on the run and spread.

I hope for Reid it was just a rest and he doesn't half a soft tissue niggle. I don't want to see him in the VFL if he is fit though so Cox has to make way.

Good win..But due to our crap start our backs are still firmly on the wall.
There is no time for kisses and cuddles just yet. Just more of the same.
The main point is even though we had a crap start the season because it is so early our destiny is still in our hands!
Heads down boys , and play what you played today " No Fear Football"

He looks a lil anxious. Just get the sports psychologist onto him. He'll be right.

Give im a cone b4 the games. Tell ASADA to go suck a giant .....!!!

Why can't you just enjoy the effort the boys put in today for just a couple of hours?
I have plenty of thoughts but not going to ruin a gutsy win, will just enjoy tonight.
