I wouldn't worry about Rich. I've consulted my crystal ball and I see him winning the rising star. I think he'll have a great chance to standout in that midfield, especially with Black out first off.

The midfield emergencies are fine too, if Dangerfield is fit he'll play and I dare say Steven will have a pretty good year too.

Only thing I'd be worried about is the backline, but I've done the same so I can;t really offer advice on that.

Cheers for the feedback.

Rich did look good on the weekend. I'll rest easy knowing that the crystal ball has come into play. Hope the cats are looking good this year in the ball.

Read around. Don't expect to be spoonfed

From just looking at that squad and not doing any calculations, is this a serious team? Struggling to see how you could fit that in under the salary cap

Believe it or not, yes.

$10,300 left in the bank. Maybe I should take it down ;)

I'm probably one gun short in attack and my ruck is weak, which is where the money is being saved. However in saying that, one of the two Sydney ruckmen will play each week which means I'll have a cheap, scoring ruckman alongside Cox. I'd much prefer having a better player in midfield of defence to score 100+ each week than spend the money on an Ottens or a Jolly who might score well for a ruckman, but not in the same league as a more elite player.

My forward setup is a bit of a risk, but I'll assume most of those kids start playing from the outset. I will probably do a bit of juggling in the first few rounds and ideally I'd like to squeeze one of them out for someone like Didak or Riewoldt depending on price fluctuations.

Quite easily with so many kids and bargain basement players starting on the field.

Rich, White, Yarran, Zabiell, along with cheap options like Skipworth, Higgins, Pettard and Raines. As long as they all play it's a nice side. You run the risk of copping zeros and wasting trades with sides like this where you start players on the field that aren't gurranteed to get a game every week, but that's the fun of the game.

Spose I just couldn't get over your backline and midfield plus Cox and 3 500+ fwds, but I guess your rest of your Fwds and rucks are pretty risky. Nevertheless if your clever with your trades early and get some luck that we all ask for in this game you could set yourself up for a good season

Very good team, mate. My only concern is starting Suban, and Gumby on the field. Though if you keep an eye on the NAB games, I'm sure you'll be able to ascertain the bargains that will start round 1. Great effort.

Goddard Gilbie Mcmahon (emg-Hill,Rance)
Adcock Nickoski Hurn T Williams

Cross Kerr Foley (emg-Rich,Dangerfield)
Griffen N Jones Lewis

Ottens Mcintosh (emg-Vickery, Currie)

J Brown R Murphy Roughhead (emg-Grant,Gumbleton)
Williams Lucas Headland Higgins

Thanks mate, and yeh players like Suban and Gumby are pretty much a stab in the dark atm, but after following the pre-season closely and seeing the teams for rnd 1 I will make my final decisions on which young blokes to pick and start on the ground. I reckon everyone probably in the same boat when it comes to the rookies, more important to get the core right for now

could someone please give me some advice on my team, feel its looking good but would love some feedback.

pretty balanced team! The backs are almost spot on the same as mine. I personally like Hill as apposed to Suban. It would seem that Hill would probably be better odds for a 1st round start after a strong performance yesterday. However this might change if Suban plays some strong challenge games in the coming weeks.

Your mids are good, but I think Kerr + Haselby in the same midfield is a bit of a risk. I've decided to steer clear of Kerr as even if he can mentally keep it together I see him missing time through injury.

I also like your forwards but reckon J.Brown isn't worth getting from the start. He is notorious for starting slow and finishing strong....so he will no doubt be available for a cheaper upgrade not far down the track. Also Buddy might be a bit underdone.

Otherwise...nice team very similar to mine (which I hope is a good thing:thumbsu:)

Thanks mate. Yeh Hill did look good last night, initially thought bit skinny atm but if he keeps up that form I'll give him the nod over suban or one of the other rookies.

Have been questioning Kerr for so long now, will stick with him unless I hear reports of him battling prior to rnd 1, just think for his price he is a good pickup, same with haselby.

Hadn't really considered that with J.Brown and Franklin, and with Richo looking like he is in for another great year might swap one of the two for him. Cheers again

Without wanting to sound like a pr!ck and I don't mean to be harsh, but start again.
McMahon is no good, Hurn is no good, Williams can't string 2 games together. Nicoski also risky, he burned me last year

Lewis under injury cloud, N.Jones not much chop and Melbourne don't score well in SC due to being flogged constantly. Griffen bit hit and miss

Headland is more like a headcase and too unreliable, Roughhead also bit too inconsistent for my liking. Try getting at least 1 more dominant fwd to go with J.Brown

I agree with PG! To many average players in that team.

Also you really should have 1 premium ruck EG: Cox, Hille, Sandy, Petrie with Ottens or Hamish being the second ruckman.

Still tinkering with this team, probably need some advice please.

Backs: Shaw, Embley, Drummond, McPharlin, S.Stevens, Pettard, Raines
EM: Schoenmakers, Heath

Mids: Harvey (C), Pendlebury, Selwood, Kerr (VC), S.Hill, Rich

Rucks: Ottens, McIntosh
EM: Mcevoy, Sellar

Forwards: Franklin, Deledio, L.Davis, J.Hill, Wonaeaemerri, Lucas, J.Riewoldt

77K left in the bank.

Any suggestions, criticism etc would be greatly appreciated.

Not bad lineup overall. The big question marks i see is on playing both hill and rich as first year players in your midfield. I also dont think J Hill deserves the pricetag on his head, last year when teams took notice of him his scores went down hill. Personally i would try and free up some money by downgrading J Hill to perhaps a Veszepremi whom i think has alot more room to grow this year, save yourself some cash and then see about trying to fit say haselby in your side in front of hill or rich

Thanx for that, was was a bit concerned with the 2 inexperienced midfielders in starting positions, and didnt really take notice of Josh Hill's price, he is too high.

Your welcome mate

Ben Reid is an interesting one, he will play more back then forward this year, so I'd avoid him till at least the first trade chance to see what he has done numbers wise.

I personally dont like J.Brown in SC even though I love him as a player, he just hasnt scored consistently over a whole season, and if Bradshaw stays fit he will steal points off him again.

As for replacements, I like J.Riewoldt, with Richo playing more up the ground and he's only about 300k, you could upgrade Reid and replace Brown at the same time.

Maybe consider Lucas as an option too, 325K is fairly cheap for a player that will score over 100 points most weeks if he stays fit.

Hope that helps a bit.
