Faced a difficult task, this is what i came up with.

Criticism welcome, but I am happy with the rucks as Cox is the only one that consistently scores well. I hope to get a score from the other 3.

Righto Boys my team is as follows:

Backs: Hodge, Goddard, S. Fisher, Newman, Gilbee, S. Hill, Malceski, (Hurley, Dawson)

Mids: Judd, Delidio, Higgins, Kelly, Rich, Hartlett, (J. Steven, J. Davenport)

Rucks: Cox, McIntosh, (Lobbe, Sullivan)

Forwards: N Reiwoldt, Chapman, Pavlich, Franklin, Watts, Jurrah, Zeibell, (Gumbleton, Grant)

My concerns are my reserve ruckmen, I don't know any good young blokes who will play games. Zac Dawson (he's a spud and I don't know if he'll play but he's a cheap spud).
And do you have to have Ablett to win this comp?

Any ideas

Hey, this is my first attempt at supercoach, and i was just wondering if i could get some feedback. Not 100% confident in this, and not really sure of scoring system as much (more of a DTer), but yeh, any names in this i should cut cos they suck at SC? Cheers in advance:

Goddard
Shaw
Chad
Malceski
Houlihan
Geary
Petterd

Collier
Hill

Ablett
Pendlebury
Dal Santo
Hasleby
Masten
Rich

Ziebell
Robinson

Cox
Hille

White
Currie

Pavlich
Richardson
Brennan
Lucas
Harbrow
Higgins
Yarren

Steele
Ballantyne

Ive loaded up on the backs mid pricers now, as im not confident in the rookies. May change as NAB cup goes on but yeh. Thoughts?

Both Good Starting teams Sptember and Lakey, and you both have the same back up ruckmen. Are they both going to get regular games do you know?

Not happy with this. Changed things around again.
Back: Goddard, Chornes, Lockyer, Adcock, Malceski, Hill, Petterd (Petrenko, Suban)

Mid: Judd, Cooney, Mitchell, Pendlebury, Haselby, Rich (Robinson, Davenport)

Ruck: Cox, Ottens (Currie, Sellar)

Fwd: Pavlich, O’Keefe, Richardson, Roughead, Skipworth, Yarran, Ziebell (Gumbleton, Ballantyne)

Did have a stronger midfield- Tuck was in there as well, but I replaced him with Haselby to free up some cash. I’ve got about $200K left over, and should do something about the forwards. Also feel a bit exposed with all the returning from injury backs.
Any thoughts?

Just bumping this- anyone have a minute? I'm leaning more towards strengthening the backs, or overloading the mids- might tinker a little and see if I can fit Bartel in there. Forwards are a bit more risky in consistency I find (with a few notable exceptions), so it makes more sense spend more cash elsewhere. I am happy to be convinced otherwise of course.

There's certainly nothing obnoxiously wrong with the squad mate. The biggest flaw I can see is that you're starting 4 rookies.
And you've got a lot of room for danger in the forwardline.
that said, you would be aware of the risks that that entails- and if it pays off, you'll be laughing.:)

Any obvious changes needed? Except for the bench rookies which i know ill need to check.

B: Goddard, Newman, Gilbee, Cornes, Malceski, Raines, Hill (Sudan, Okeefe)
M: Bartel, Judd, Pendles, Hasleby, Skipworth, Rich (Beams, Swift)
R: Hille, Ottens (Trengove, Currie)
F: Boomer, Lids, Pav, Brown, Lucas, Higgins, Sidebottom (Gumby, Walker)
Gah gotta bump mine back up, its been missed last 3 times :D

Is Cox a must to be competitive? And if so, where can i afford to downgrade?

Back: Pratt, Gilbee, C. Cornes, Adcock, Dempsey, Rains, Geary (Hill, Suban)

Mid: Judd, Pendlebury, Goodwin, Valenti, Hocking, Rich (Dangerfield, Beams)

Ruck: Hille, Tippet (White, Currie)

Foward: Riewoldt, Pavlich, Franklin, Porplyzia, Morton, Higgins, Skipworth (Yarren, Gumbleton)

What does everyone think? Cheers :thumbsu:

Backs: C.Cornes, T.Lockyer, S.Buckley, N.Malceski, J.Smith, A. Raines, S.Hill, R.Pettard, N.Suban.

Mid: C.Judd, S.Burgoyne, D.Kerr, J.Lewis, C.Morton, C.Masten, D.Rich, M.Robinson.

Ruck: D.Hill, H.McIntosh, M.Leuenberger, J.White

Forwards: B.Harvey, M. Pavlich, B.Deledio, R.Houlihan, P.Vespremi, S.Higgins, L.Hansen, J.Ziebell, S.Sidebottom (could change depending if starts first round)

What do u guys think??
Do u believe i have taken too many risks with players coming back from injury?
Im also considering on trading Hansen for Skipworth?
Im hoping that majority of these players will increase in value so then i can eventually upgrade throughout the season.

You need more expensive gun players and less mid-tier. It's better to have lots of guns and lots of rookies than a few guns and wasting your cash on mid-tier players. You'll probably be best off having a 3-3-1-3 formula (each number representing the amount of $500,000+ players in each position - defence, midfield, rucks, forwards).

Woah. One of my template teams is nearly identical to yours mate. Same midfield, and forward line and most of the backs are the same too.

The only thing is that I have Cox instead of Hille.

Great minds think alike.

PS. 6# Mark Williams - I made my team without being a sheep and copying IsDonIsGoodes one. Just letting you know. :D

OK guys, im playing supercoach for some big money and i need some urgent advice off all you pro's out there.

my team from the back is:

BACKLINE: Enright----Gilbee----Lockyer----Ellis----Nickoski----Raines----Petterd. (Hill, Suban)

Mids: Judd----Corey----Deledio----Cotchin----Baker----Higgins. (Rich, Swift)

Rucks: Hille----Ottens. ( Goldstien, Jake Spencer)

Forwards: Franklin----S.Johnson----Fevola----Porplyzia----Wonaemirri----Lucas----Taylor Walker. (Sidebottom, Ballayntyne)

I'm thinking my midfield looks a bit light on with steven baker and higgo. But i think higgo will score big. Not sure bout baker though.

Backline also looking a bit thin.

I've got a touch over 52k to work with. Give me some feedback please. Big cash depends on this

I completely disagree with this statement.

Mid-tier players that turn into keepers are worth their weight in gold. They are hardly a waste.

Technically, a gun player who maintains his average over the year, will earn you -10% of his salary over the year... sounds more like a waste to me...

Cheers to you sir Walesy.

The rookies always worry me- they're obviously not set in stone for a few weeks, and I have a definite trade plan. Last year I was too focussed on staying on top of my work league ladder (which I did, but only by being trade happy early on), but was beaten by the defending champion who started with a team not dissimilar to this in structure. Of course I'd also like to get a bit higher on the overall ladder, so can't take too many risks...

The biggest upside to the risky nature of this team is $200K in the bank for early round tinkering...

Warmth and joy.
