On the bottom of my screen it says BF would like my permission to enable push notifications , what does that do for me please
It means you will get notifications from Bigfooty even if you are not using the app/website.

ie.

You're browsing your emails or Google or realestate.com.au, and you will get a Bigfooty notification saying "caesar88 liked your post", "caesar88 quoted your post", "caesar88 is still incredibly handsome" etc.

say no, it means when you browse another website you will recieve notifications on what's happening at bigfooty.

So you'll be on sydneyswans.com.au and a tile will popup at the bottom of the screen "bloodyswan has replied to your post"

Whenever I visit this board I have to open the bolded threads and read or at least fast forward to the last post to get rid of the bolded threads, even if the thread is of no interest to me. Why is that? Am I a touch OCD?

It appears Mr Brodie Lawson got fed up with waiting for his talent to be recognised and just decided to add himself to the the Sydney Swans list when nobody was looking;

To be fair he did show a degree of humility and allocated himself number 46 rather than earlier numbers that were available.

I don't get those caesar88 posts. Is that Spam? Glad I don't!!

You can get the 2025 guernsey on other shop sites, so not sure what the hold up is, Nike stuff is great but seems slow.

Seems a Sydney thing though maybe, as Collingwood has 2025 Nike stuff
I find it bizarre that you guys have received the 2025 training gear but we’re still waiting on ours, because its Feb and we’re wearing last years…

Nike is rubbish!

When on the swans board main page, up the top right there is a button that says marked read. It will save you time.

It's nuts.

The only 2025 item on our website is a Nike backpack: https://shop.sydneyswans.com.au/. We are still selling (for example) 2024 polo shirts.

I appreciate it's not the site Swan fans want to be looking at but compare that to our 'cross town rivals' who have "all 2025 items available": https://shop.gwsgiants.com.au/. Like you say, the Pies have a number of 2025 items available (yes, Nike too).

I would suggest that having new season apparel ready to go is a pretty basic task for any sporting team's kit manufacturer plus the club itself. There are plenty of fans (me included) who want to buy the next season's apparel as soon as possible and get wearing it with pride.

It's a money spinner. To not have anything available in our club online store 39 days before our first game is not good enough.
One more week passes and 2025 apparel is still not available in our online shop:

Less than 5 weeks until the opening bounce and the only 2025 item available is a Nike backpack.

All the other teams have apparel available, including (by way of example) the West Coast Eagles:

How can a major sporting club get this so wrong??

The team of this century thread got me thinking. How good could Alex Johnson have been based on his 45 games prior to be injured? I didn't follow AFL and the Swans as closely back then.

Thinking of defenders we've had since who are the closest comparison in style and attributes, would it be fair to say Blakey and Rampe are the closest? Could he have been as good, or better than both of them?

He was a gun who could both defend one on one and attack as well. Wasn't an especially good kick. Would only have got better.

I would say he's nothing like either , he was AJ who did it his way , would've been captain by now , he's a leader and certainly didn't have to do a weak act like Blakey in the GF

How can you know that? Plenty were great and courageous in the 2012 GF and then had embarrassing efforts two years later. Who is to say that AJ wouldn't have been one of them?

This very much a FWIW, but HSun journos Jon Ralph and Glenn McFarlane have named their 10 best players of the 21st century.

(Paywalled)

1 Buddy
2 GAJ
3 Dusty
4 Judd
5 Dangerfield
6 Pendelbury
7 Voss
8 Goodes
9 Scarlett
10 Riewoldt (Nick)

I guess it gives them something to do over the off-season.
The article also identifies why the player is chosen and gives readers the opportunity to vote whether the player is over-rated, under-rated or judged correctly.

So far Buddy is voted the second most 'over-rated' (at 58% of votes) and Adam the third in that category (57%).
Dangerfield is considered most over-rated (63%).

The 2 journos also named a team of the 21st century.

Goodes wing, Franklin CHF.

Horse was named coach of the team of the 21st century, due to his consistency in reaching GFs.

Nah, just gagging.
It was Clarko.

He wouldn't was better than that but im biased . I was just saying he's nowhere near the other 2 , he's one of the most loved players at the club this century

Heard on the weekend that BBL man of the moment Mitch Owens has a brother, Cameron, who was drafted by the Swans. Have no idea whether he's still on our list I confess.
No he's not.
He was drafted as a rookie in the 2022 draft (prior to the2023 season).
Identified as a 203 cm ruck with plenty of development left in him.

Turned out the 203cm bit was correct.
The rest not so much.
He was delisted after one season.

Played some games with Footscray in the VFL (incl finals) in 2024.
Signed on, in November 2024,with Frankston YCW* for 2025.
(*Not to be confused with the VFL side).

Cheers, his brother CAN hit a cricket ball.

57 % of people thought Goodes being rated 8th best player of this century is an over-rating? I tell you what, this AFL community really has a huge percentage of bigoted, shortsighted peanuts.

If they had made a list of the 500 best players of this century and Goodes was ranked 499, the same knuckleheads, jokers and dimwits would have still rated him as over-rated compared to the rest of the list, such is their bias against him.
