Finlayson -5 m gained.
Mead 17 AFL fantasy points.
Jonas 6 possessions, 30 AF points. 75m gained.
Wines 3 clearances!
Boak 2 inside 50s.
Lycett beaten comprehensively.
Butters quiet before injured.
Duursma turning it over consistently.

Scrap, high kicks forward.
Panicky defending.
Individualistic centre square work.
Lack of forward half pressure.

Dreadful game.
You forgot our forwards kicking at below under ten levels

You could tell within the first couple minutes that we weren't on today. With a third of our starters out, its wasn't surprising. We were always going to drop a game against someone we shouldn't... Rather drop one now than in September...

5 goals down at 3qrt time and I thought we were still in it.

Bigger fish to fry...

That has been coming for a while.

We've played some excellent footy but for weeks now a real lack of purpose has been creeping in to our game. A lack of total desperation and a hint of wanting the easy, glory ball above all.

Lots exposed today.

Our defense is putrid when they actually have to defend. They're great when we we front half footy but when we don't/can't they are horrid. Even sides like WC made us look second rate at times and a lot of this is the way we defend. You can't play zone off, 5m in front, 10m to the side when things are against you. Back shoulder, goal side, beat your man of at the very least nullify. Our defenders don't, they are completely unaccountable and all wait for somebody else to do the real hard stuff.

Jonas is beyond a joke. Williams is very good when we are on top, a total liability when he needs to actually defend. Burgoyne is miles off AFL standard and Jones seems to have reverted to overthinking and rushing every single play he's involved in. Burton has been timid for months on end now and Allir is good but has been pushing the boundaries of what he can get away with for sometime.

The defense is a huge concern.

Lycett? Why even play him? He'll throw up a few good to very good games a year the rest are rubbish. Soft, weak, unco, can't mark and rarely has any positive impact with his hitouts. Seeing this huge lump of a man, time and time again, not even making an effort to get to a high ball coming in and standing around on the outside of a pack like some running half back makes me vomit. Where is his aggression? He's weak.

Play Hayes, we lose nothing and gain atleast a few positive movements away from ball-ups or throw-ins.

Both Lord and Marshall started poorly with kicking and Finlayson had a shocker but he's been enormous so you can't go hard on him but the 3 small defensive forwards - PP, McEntee and DBJ are trash. Complete trash and their defensive work or sacrifice for others is so overstated it's not funny.

PP has been bludging early in games for ages now. Trying to create a magic goal any time he goes near the ball and showing next to zero desperation. Without his aggression and desperation he's nothing more than an average B grader.

McEntee is horrible. No skill, no smarts, can't crumb and his defensive efforts are just not there. He jogs around pointin at others more than anything else.

DBJ just hasn't the class, evasive ability or smarts to be a constant HFF. Occasionally surprises but more often than not is invisible when it's tough.

And Mead. Good Lord, he's not even close to AFL standard. Small, slow and timid. Likes to pretend he's trying but like Bonner actively removes himself from situations it might be tough in.

The midfield tonight were poor but we did run guys through there I don't expect to see a lot of time in there as we approach finals. Fumbly, over running ground balls, throwing blind handballs around like a training drill. Constantly throughout the first half setting up leaving paddocks of open space for the Carlton guys to storm through and most chased like they couldn,t be bothered.

All this has been brewing for weeks now and with each passing weeks more and more guys have been playing like they think they've made it. Mission complete, look at us.

Well I hope we get a few back next week and I hope Ken rips in to just about every single player tonight because that type of effort could see us losing most games from here on in.

That was really bad against a pretty average side.
Too long to bother reading

How about that Bergman handball in the first few minutes of the game, by the way. Jeez, what does he see? He is a very poor player outside of his intercept marking.
Shows a lot of promise and I can certainly se evil becoming an elite player, but he can be very ordinary under immediate pressure and burns the ball to much.

Meade's s**t but don't blame that kid. The defence was a circus
No. He’s been on the list four years. He has to show something more than that. He has yet to play one convincingly positive game at the higher level.

We know he’s not quick but you have to have some other strength. Desperation, evasiveness, clean hands, tenacity. He’s got zilch.

Clearly not the reason we lost by 9 goals but he shouldn’t bother expecting another opportunity at AFL level again.

If we’re dinkum, then he, Jonas and Dumont are the three players who should slide off our list first at season’s end.

You obviously haven't seen Freo play lately, I think you will finish 18-5

We haven’t beaten you in Perth since the 2014 Semi.

You could literally pick a forward line of Chris Groom, Paul Maher, and Andrew Shipp, and be confident of taking the chocolates.

The goal kicking was absolutely pathetic.

Not just the set shots off the side of the boot, but running into an open goal and opting for a crap snap, or just not making the distance Sam Gray style.

Scott Gumbleton, Andrew Wills and Kingsley Hunter to round out the front half
