No injuries, good signs from Rachele and a few others.

Rob continues to worry me. Okay around the ground, mostly hopeless in the ruck. Doesn't help our already slow and mediocre midfield.

One of our most improved? Are you kidding? Dont get me wrong, he displays heart in every game..but skills wise he is poor and has not improved...and gives away a tremendous amount of free kicks. When you consider we could have had Duursma instead..it was a clear failure in drafting.

Maybe, Josh Rachele was rated the better player at U16's and never really had the opportunities that the other lad had after that.

Without the experienced players sticking to a game plan was always going to be hard. Especially when you don't have the trust in your team mates to win their position. Young players get flustered. I think there were signs of lack of match practise as well. Had our entire squad been available, even if we didn't play Walker and Sloane we'd have been on par with the lions today.

On a side note, most of the frees and the 50s were terrible. I think the umpires are competing for the final umpiring squad which usually equate to over umpired games at this time of year.

It may be a longer season than I suspected - yes I realise it was a trial game and conditions weren't good but even then all of our lines have gaping holes. Rachelle an obvious stand out but from my observations we took maybe 3 contested marks all game and he took one of them. Yes the conditions were poor but Brisbane coped and took numerous contested marks. Great that we recruited both Rachelle and Soggy but should we have targeted some big guys for the next few picks as we look too small down the line.
Jones had a mare and made some critical mistakes I hope this doesn't destroy the confidence he would have gained from last year.
Fog was no where.

I liked Berry's efforts.

I don't like Obrien being sent forward he looked nowhere near a forward a stop gap measure at best.

Pedlar showed glimpses.

The umpires were fun.
