All of Schoenberg, Pedlar, Rachele and Taylor have very goodt acceleration from the contest.
Rachele and Taylor have extremely good footskills, Schoenberg not too shabby either and I wouldn't be judging Pedlar too harshly in that regard until he gets fully fit.

Big H has had some personal tragedies recent years so I'm putting his silly recruiting down to that.
Last year's draft was a good one by him though.
And yeah McHenry is a dumb footballer.
Apart from Shoey, those guys aren't going to get much midfield time with Laird, Crouch, Keays and Sloane.
Our midfield is just too much alike. Can we draft a midfielder over 5'10 and can run further than 30 metres
Thank goodness we finally have a couple of match winnersOne in particular that said we'd never pick a player like him, basically said he had no outstanding attributes and lacked pace...

Kick-out strategy was slow, repetitive and just didn't work (same old story kicking to a ruck on half back flank literally since the days of Rhett Biglands)
McHenry has guts, but can't realistically compete against any sizable midfield/half forward and attempts werird flashy plays too often
the conditions and delivery has to be 100% for Fogarty to mark, compete and gain more than 5 possessions (take note of McStay's game MINUS the free kicks)
Holding the ball interpretation for 2022 (my eyes hurt)

laird, keays, mcrouch - shit. worse midfield leadership group in the comp. embarrassing today. I dont care that it was only a scratch match, that was disgusting from the 3 blokes who are meant to lead that young group and set the example. Completely outclassed and showed **** all fight.
fog - wtf was that?.
umpiring - every single one of those field umpires needs to be dragged in and asked just wtf they were thinking. possibly the worst umpired game I’ve ever seen.. it was SANFL levels of shit/bias.
Murray - is good and bad.. just becomes a complete liability at times due to him being a very clumbsy player.
Mcpherson should change his name to mcfumbles..

dont want to have a real hard go at our defenders or our forwards when the midfield is so poor it is a joke. how are you meant to defend against that lions midfield onslaught with your midfield allowing them to easily waltz the ball out and how are you meant to ply your forward craft with such shithouse delivery from your midfield?..

-a fair few of our youth showed something even though there was clearly a few cobwebs.
-a few of our newbies showed some great signs
-thought hinge was solid
-Jones was hot and cold.. showed some great things but also made some dumb mistakes. mchenry the same.
-Pedlar didnt do a lot but I just get this vibe from watching him that theres something there that is going to emerge.

Nah not really. We had 5 players with 50+ games of AFL experience and one of them was on heavily restricted minutes (Crouch).
Conditions were terrible.
Preseason results don't matter.

ah praccy match season, the best time of the year
Been feeling this for a while with Rob, he works very hard which you can't fault at all but he is also a very clumbsy footballer and just can't see him ever being elite. He did well last year in terms of dropping back and taking contested marks to save certain goals that part he does well.
