a mansell goal is 3 goals missed by others
Yeah makes sense...

Yes in my view its delusional to think that we are able to win the flag by 2026.

Changing the goal posts to being competitive is not the same thing, you originally brought up a flag.

Although I still think we'll be a bit further away, I see 2025 as a likely bottom 3 year, and I don't think we'll jump back into finals the year after.

I didn’t change the goal posts I just didn’t specify flag, as a part of being very competitive is potentially winning the flag. In my original post I said it was unlikely we would win the flag but it is still possible in a non-delusional sense.

We have a small window where it may be possible to combine the remaining experience on our list with the up and coming players for on-field success. It’s unlikely but we saw Collingwood do a similar thing 2 years ago. The league is still wide open which means a bit of luck can have a huge impact.

This year we could’ve been 5-1 or 4-2 heading into the Melbourne game if it wasn’t for injury. We lost 3 players in the Carlton game, and then had our midfield depleted before the St Kilda and West Coast games, along with other key injuries like Lynch & Balta.

Maybe our injury woes continue but until we see what our best 22 players can do next year, I wouldn’t be writing off success.

Agree that if Mansell is in our side we aren't much chop. Basically the type of player who is at the right club at the right time so he might play 50-100. If he becomes the hardest worker in the squad and relies on effort though it might be enough similar to Castagna.
Don't agree with that. Every side needs role players. Jarrod Berry lined up on a HFF for Brisbane in the Grand Final last year. Beau McCreery the year before. Gary Rohan 2022. Tom Sparrow and Charlie Spargo 2021. Hutchings 2018. Castagna won 3 flags, Townsend won 1....

Mansell stacks up pretty well against those guys.

In a sense we were lucky to have been decimated with injury and finish bottom of the ladder, I was thinking that our list at the beginning of the season was worth about 10 wins if we had have stayed healthy.

Feels like the train wreck was a catalyst for the departures and pushed us towards pillaging the draft.

Yeah our incompetence paid off. Happens all the time in every industry you can think of.

Yes. I think you’re correct in your assessment he can do anything except kick the pill. Which is a shame given it’s football
He's a good kick. Kicked 21.10 for the year. 32.15 career. Hits targets. Good kick.

Who doesn’t

Even Jack and Dusty missed clutch goals from time to time

Putting this guy in the conversation of Dusty and Jack? These guys are match winners.

I’m not shitting on the guy. I hope he blows it off the off the park but he’s not a match winner. Get a grip.

Hearing that Fawcett is a strong Rd. 1 chance. Club have been super impressed with his attotude to his injury setbacks and how strongly he has worked so far this offseason.

If you compare this guy to Jack and Dusty in terms of kicking clutch goals I’m all for it

If you want to compare him to smalls that can’t do it have at it
