Don't agree with that. Every side needs role players. Jarrod Berry lined up on a HFF for Brisbane in the Grand Final last year. Beau McCreery the year before. Gary Rohan 2022. Tom Sparrow and Charlie Spargo 2021. Hutchings 2018. Castagna won 3 flags, Townsend won 1....

Mansell stacks up pretty well against those guys.

Strong attitude is paramount. Can’t be turning it off and on. Good to hear Fawcett is running well.

Yes. I think you’re correct in your assessment he can do anything except kick the pill. Which is a shame given it’s football

It’s a disgrace and a black mark on the club that George quit due to fan bullying. He played some elite football in a lot of our finals runs.

In a sense we were lucky to have been decimated with injury and finish bottom of the ladder, I was thinking that our list at the beginning of the season was worth about 10 wins if we had have stayed healthy.

Feels like the train wreck was a catalyst for the departures and pushed us towards pillaging the draft.

Yeah, people forget how competitive we were before injuries really mounted up and took their toll:

Round zero : shocking forty-five minutes then competitive.

Round One: 5-point loss to Blues with multiple in-game injuries and minus seven frees.

Round two : up by three goals v Port just before HT. Lost by thirty … minus ten frees.

Round three: beat swans

Round four: saints had one goal at half time. Lost by seven.

Then round five was eagles. We had no Taranto, Ross, Prestia, Hopper, Lynch, Gibcus MRJ and Short was injured early in game. We kicked first five goals of game but were overrun. Minus nine frees.

From there our season was just obliterated by injuries.

But with a half decent injury run we are three and three after six rounds at worst, and maybe four and two then who knows how the season pans out.

But those first six weeks of 2024 were pretty impressive given we still had a decent injury count. But after the Eagles game we never had a game with at least seven or eight of our best team missing and our season was shot from there.
