I know what happened.

Harker is Kane Lucas. When we couldn't find Sugar, he was busy writing reports; now he is training again, we get nothing.
Looking for a big year from you, Harks.

At least he isnt Paul Bower.... that ripped quad ripped his career

That was some serious mismanagement really... he should have been left in cotton wool for more than he was. Rushing him back into the side like we did basically ripped his career apart.

That and the fact that he should never have been playing as a KPD...

Thanks Aphrodite - saw these on CFC website but really want to see the boys train and take my son as well before he goes back to school.

What happened to the Monday and Saturday morning sessions during preseason last year?

A lot of closed sessions with Mick - something is brewing!

Isn't there anyway you can make it to a weekday session?

Sometimes during the season the opening sessions get changed to closed sessions at the last minute.

It's a shame that there aren't any open sessions on Saturday for people who can't get to the weekday sessions due to work commitments.

Went to training day this morning to have a bo peep at the players. I will post some photos this evening when I have the chance to figure out how you post these things on BF..

Some observations :

Warnock was looking fit and very mobile and taking some great marks in early session. Watson looks like the most unathletic of our players he juts doesn't have the run his legs that others have but he clunks marks as well as any and is a beautiful kick. Buckley looks like a future star small forward - just beautiful hands and lightning quick. Bell is a monster, runs fast, vociferous and enthusiastic - spent a bit of time with Juddy one on one in set one two plays. Hampson and Henderson were out there - but were not involved in the higher intensity end to end drills. Kreuz looks like he has lost a to of weight from his legs and he too seemed to be on a lighter training load along with Waite.

Yarran was electric and a general in end to end drills he seemed to be involved as much in midfield drills as set defensive plays.

Kick out drills were very impressive - as in very impressive - look for fast goal to forward 50 arc plays this year.

Laidler looked very fit and firing as did Duigan. Armfield is quick and seems to have improved his filed kicking accuracy. Jeff G was electric and very smooth with his ball work. Eddie is a demanding trainer and looking sharp as a tack. Rowe was marking well. Casboult was very impresive in markling and running - but his kicking ( needs work ) clearly not a natural - but will be an awesome target. Walker is just the athlete's athlete, smooth, efficient, doing lots of marking and kicking drills today. Menzel or 'Menz' as the players were calling him was in what I guess the lighter work load unit- which included Hampson, Henderson, Kreuzer, Scotland, Carrazzo, Lucas, Mitchell and Waite - Menz is already a popular team member and looks a good size for a HFF role already.

I was there for about an hour and a half of the two hour session. Drills seemed to last for 10- 15 minute sessions and then a talk followed by another session. Team was split into backs/forwards and mids with non participators in at pace drills doing light load skills work. Can't say too much about midfield as they were mostly (in the midfield doing various drills - seemed to be a good amount of work on set plays from bounces and ball ups - transitioning to forward area).

I have to say - full speed drill for end to end work was very impressive - as was goals to forward fifty drill work - players involved were razor sharp in execution and fast - as in fast.

All in all a lot of fun and always great to visit the Park ground and (of course) look at teh 16 cups on display.:thumbsu:

Some photos to follow.

I actually dont believe training has happened yet.... Harker hasn't posted yet?

My apologies but I do get away every now and then. :)

More importantly is that we're all happy to post what we see when we do get to training.
What I do find is that one session in isolation doesn't tell you much but if you do front up on an ongoing basis a definite picture starts to form.

The serious stuff begins very shortly at training I'd assume, but for now I wish to thank those for their reports. Keep the wheels turning guys and gals. :thumbsu:

My pleasure Aph !

Sorry about the 'ordinary' presentation everyone - I need to do some homework on some HTML to improve the presentation..and I dont know why a couple of the pics were doubled up...??!

Might get down to an intra club game if they open it up to supporters - with a long telephoto lens for some close ups..

Oh I didn't notice that. :D

Yes it is the same pic.
like I said... not that it matters to you girls...

having said that... I just realised what the ultimate blues pr0n would be for the ladies...

Handsome with his shirt off, holding up #17...

Wouldnt be a dry seat in the stadium :p

Think Yarran stated on SEN that he is looking for more of a midfield role this year.

Yarran, grounded by toe injuries last year, revealed his plans of moving further up the ground adding to the Blues' engine room.

"I feel totally fitter this year than what I was last year... hopefully I can try and crack into that midfield next year and help Juddy (Chris Judd) and Simmo (Kade Simpson) out," Yarran said.

Yarran is an excitement machine - he makes things happen whenever he is near the ball - I reckon a genuine superstar in the making.

I know we're getting plenty of fluff coming from the press as you'd expect to be fair, but I'm still hearing only good things about Malthouse and his ways.

Watch out for Warnock as he may be a big surprise for us.
Forget the notion of him looking lax as he's actually getting around very well and some of his ground work is of a high quality.

Yarran sounded terrific on SEN today brimming with genuine enthusiasm.
Was polite enough about Ratten but I just keep hearing that Ratten pushed the boys just a little too hard last year.
I recall commenting on just how serious the boys looked at training last year but once the numbers started dropping off due to injuries the "fun" seemed to stop.
That's not to bag Ratten as I think he set out on a somewhat dangerous path encompassing planned rests and rotations but when players went down, the plan fell astray.
Anyway, Yarran did say that he just couldn't get his game together post the toe injury last year and if he does get even 30% game time in the centre he'll do damage.
