Murphy is looking way stronger in that frame, has the muscle now to maintain a taller posture.
I think Murphy is in track to be a fantastic full back.

Yeah, I had the same view watching him on Monday, was surprised at how good a runner he was. Very very early days but he just might pass Davies and become the next tall up.

Didn’t he miss a chunk of last year with some sort of surgery? Really interested to see how he goes with a proper season

Re maintaining a taller posture, does anyone have a professional take on Sean Darcy's habitual onfield 'slouch' posture? Big contrast to JT. Could be profoundly innate in Sean and not an issue...but I've always wondered if any regimen that 'tightened him up' so to speak would be worthwhile, if doable.

It is heading to crunch time list wise for Davies. It's just a numbers game with Pearce, Ryan and Cox all young enough to have 4+ years left each and Draper having locked in the next man in spot.

I'm adamant Davies contested and actual defending work is elite and better than Draper IMO but he needs to cut down his cat 10 errors at Peel this season to once a month at most, rather than once or twice a week.

Man I swear some of yall are just seeing what you want to see with Darcy. The only difference I can see is his moustache.

Same thing that happens every year. One photo he looks really slim the another photo two days later and he’s obese.

Caught Ollie Murphy in a run-down tackle at one point, when Murphy tried to go on a run and evade 3/4 of the team. Delean wrapped him up good.

Not a lot to report, really. Mostly drills. Darcy and Sturt on the sidelines doing some biomechanics stuff, running, agility. At one point they were doing kick to kick (15m), with Sturt using his right. Fyfe, JOM and Bolton did a variety of piggy-in-the-middle type drills.

Of the larger group drills, there were a lot of kick-in plays, focusing on moving quick, picking the isolated player 20m out, run and hand-ball receive, etc. Fast movement. Whether we see any of that on game day is another matter altogether.

At other times, there were lots of 3/4 player rotations all at once spread across the oval, with players going through kicking and running formations, when suddenly whistle would blow and one ball became live (don't know how everyone knew which one), and it was one team attacking and another defending. During these we saw Pearce take a non-linear run on more than one occasion. He was looking good. He did have his purple arm guard on, though. Thought Davies looked alright, and MacDonald landed some very nice pinpoint kicks just over the top of an opposing player. Voss grabbed JOM in a bear hug tackle from behind at one point and lifted him a foot off the ground. No wonder everyone picked him for strength on the podcast segment. NOD went on some tearing runs.

But it was all quite low pressure. At one point they were all kicking snap/banana passes, looking for all the world like they were just goofing around, and EVERY SINGLE ONE was pinpoint. It's amazing how a little bit of pressure can make it all come undone.

Some players I didn't see/notice but assume were there: Sharp, Brodie, Amiss.
That sounds awesome to me. My hope is that we have 3 or 4 methods from a kick out.

Nope, he visibly looks slimmer so he's earnt my respect back. The club was very vocal about a 'specific' player's conditioning so I can imagine they gave him a talking to behind the scenes. There is a long time between now and the start of the season so I hope he keeps on this trajectory. We sorely missed him last season. Idk why you always defend him.

Love those photos with the weights from this morning’s sesh (and it was hot early today) - suffering face, suffering face, then Treacy apparently loving it. I get the impression he is hungry, and that’s wonderful for us

If my goal was to defend him I’d be piggybacking off all the comments saying he’s slimmed down. All I’m saying is you can go back to every pre season thread and you’ll find comments talking about how much he’s slimmed down when it’s really not always the case.

He’s not peak Fyfe, but this is the first year he looks slimmer to me.

Still looks like a bit more to go though.

Happens every year during the off-season. There's no games to watch but only photos to look at so it creates an illusion. Apparently every player on the list has their frame developed, they grow 20cm in height and put on another 10KG of muscle in 3 months.

I saw pictures of Amiss after reading comments on here and Lol'd out loud.

That’s exactly what happens. Just have a look at Instagram if you want tricks on how to look slimmer in photos while doing nothing.

You can’t tell from photos.

Let us enjoy our fantasy of an inevitable premiership until we're brought back to reality partway through the first preseason game. As is tradition.

Nah Amiss 100% has been working out those shoulders. He def has put on some size. Even Brayshaws arms look like he has added some size. Not sure about the rest though.
